Hey guys, Im looking into getting a Glock 22 and I discovered a select fire kit thats supposed to be universal for all glocks and seems well built. My only problem is the legality factors of it, if it is indeed legal I was thinking about getting a G17 just to have the kit for fun (like who wouldnt wan't full auto? and no im not a terrorist, nor am I considering it if it is indeed illegal).

Well here is the link, reguardless of the lagalilty its neat as hell to look at for fun.
http://www.glock-tuning.com/

Any information about this product and the legalities of it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Charles

I'd almost be willing to bet that the conversion kit is not legal here in the States. You would be converting a non-fully automatic firearm into a fully automatic firearm i.e. you would be manufacturing a machine gun.

Bad Karma in the eyes of the BATFE, I'd bet.

Too bad, too.

well, i guess i could email the guys and see what they have to say. It does state 140bucks USDollars, so maybe intended to sale for americans? It is a detachable non permanent device, so the laws seem sketchy on it. Lets find out.

I hate to rain on everyone's parade, much as I too want one of these, but to quote the ATF (national firearm act)
Machinegun. - The term "machinegun" means any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, and any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be
and...
SUBCHAPTER C - PROHIBITED ACTS
It shall be unlawful for any person -
(c ) to receive or possess a firearm made in violation of the provisions of this chapter;
Essentially, it becomes a Class-3 weapon. I'm pretty sure it's illegal, though it looks like more fun than when the hogs ate little sister.

Well I emailed them just out of curiousity and here is their responce...

Thank you for your interest

If they are legit, I think you'd probly get it it passed Uncle Sam, but givin the legal issues I would touch it with a ten foot pole. Cash only?? I dont think so. With it being illegal here, and they only accept cash they could easly just keep the money. And you'd have no way to force either a refund or getting their "product". Sounds like a scam to me.

If this were before 1986, you could probably get a tax stamp for a conversion. But as of 1986, NO NEW full-auto conversions are allowed for Civlilians, only MIL/LE.

That's why Class 3 are so high. There is only a limited # to go around.

You could always get one of those trigger devices like the Hellstorm or Tactrigger. Of course, I don't even know if they work or if they have any practical combat applications.

No, they have NO application. The few I've played with were so soft metal that they deformed to the point of not working, just by trying to tighten them onto the gun.

I cannot believe that this device is legal. It is not allowed under the terms of the NFA and, if they are selling them to citizens, they are breaking the law and you could end up in prison if you were ever found to have one in your posession.

it sounds like the way they get around the legal part is that aslong as it isnt installed then it isnt illegal. owning the parts isnt illegal but installing them is.

In the FAQ secton of their website:

Is it easy to install, how can I do it ?
Installation of G-TC and converting Glock pistols into full automatic weapons is allowed by authorised personnel only. G-TC is easily attached or detached within a few seconds and needs no gunsmith. GTC does not alter the gun! See "Assembly" video!

Its not bold/underlined on their site, I did that myself. What I wonder is how it is legal to sell to the general public at all. They should have to sell to only qualified people I would assume.

Whoa little doggies---Owning the part AND owning the gun IS illegal. Just like AR15's, if you have M16 parts in the bedroom and an AR15 in the kitchen, ATF says you are in possession of a machinegun. The part does not have to be installed in the gun. That part is illegal to have if you have a Glock with it.
