I have a Ruger Mini-30 Tactical 580 series rifle with milled-in scope mounts.
I don't have a lot of money, can anyone suggest a good scope for shooting out to 100 yards accurately?
I like mil dots, probably not needed if only shooting out to 100 yards tbough. I bought a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x. It has the SPR reticle with lighted green FireDot. Only weighs 9.6 ounces, reticlle is calibrated for a 62 gr. 5.56 as is the elevation turret, but with a little experimenting you could find out what these holdover marks are hitting with your 7.62x39 loads. Leupold will custom make a new elevation turret calibrated for whatever load info you provide ( for $30) so should be able th o make a turret for say a 123gr. Bullet @ 2300 fps. At 1.5x scope can be shot with both eyes open like a red dot, then cranked to 4x for a long shot. Price is right at $400.
