Enclosed is a review and comparison of the Redfield Accelerator reflex sight. The sight has a street value of ~$ 200 and has a large 6 MOA red dot. 6 MOA implies the dot will cover a 6 inch diameter target at 100 yards. The larger the dot the faster the target acquisition. Since I'll be mounting this on a Remington 870, a 6 MOA dot is fine. I'll also be comparing the Redfield accelerator vs. Burris Cross Fire III ($225) and the Tijicon RMR ($650) RM06 adjustable reflex sight, The Tijicon has a 6.5 MOA and the Burris has a smaller dot at 3 MOA.

top view, The reflex needs to be removed from the baseplate for battery change out on the RMR unit

all screens are about the same size

RMR has a much thicker screen protector housing than the Burris

Redfield screen guard is about as thick as the RMR

underside view, all attach to rails without issue

Burris fast fire mounted on Mini-14. need the smaller MOA dot on rifle

RMR mounted on Benelli M4, need the 6 MOA dot for fast target find

Review:
The RMR unit seems to be more robust, however,
-The brightness controls are clumsy
-The unit needs re-zero after battery change-out

The Fastfire has better brightness controls but:
- is not as robust as the RMR or Accelerator unit
- The optional guard is about $70 on top of the $225 price

The Accelerator has great brightness controls but:
- need special mini Allen key to adjust windage and elevation
- Battery compartment was difficult to open

Given the units I would value them in this order:
1. Redfield Accelerator
2. Burris Fastfire 3
3 Tijicon RMR 07
The Tijicon is way over priced for the function it performs, given the Redfield and Burris options at a much less price.

Here are a couple of shots from our target shooting from yesterday in Washington state Cascade Mountains:

Me with RMR sight on the Benelli M4

Buddy Andrew with RMR sight on the Benelli M4

Fastfire 3 on Mini-14, with single point Magpul sling

Andrew with Fastfire on Mini-14

Andrew with Redfield accelerator on Remington 870 Tactical express

Couple observations:
1. All dots functioned well.
2. The Redfield accelerator I believe inadvertently turned itself on during transit. The Redfield is the only reflex that has it's brightness on/off button exposed (protrudes). This may be an issue. I'll need to watch this.
3. I really like the Burris Fastfire III guard, All Fastfires should have this feature
4. I did check to see if I could mount the Redfield on the Burris guard, but to no avail. The Accelerator would not fit on the Burris guard.
