Further research suggests that there was a Federal Ordnance stripper clip guide that attached to the sideplate notch of the Mini14 for directly loading into the gun's magazine, but I haven't been able to find a picture.
However I will tell you that the company I am dealing with is a top of the line manufacturer of scope mounts for a variety of guns including AR's and Mini14's.
The product that I requested was described in my post above, and if they decide to run it I will be the first to know.
I also follow up frequently just to see if they are actually going to do it or not. This is a large company and they have Bean Counters and if the Bean Counters don't see the profit there, it may not happen.
I am exploring other options as well. Please do understand. The product I am pushing for is not the same as Cemoulton's product, However it does incorporate the stripper clip guide. It is more of an optic mount that sits the Red Dot right above the front receiver ring.
They actually are on this site and know the market is here. They did their market research based on my recommendation of this site.
I was told last Thursday 3/20/14 they are serious about doing this, and there will be a simple Stripper Clip guide first, and then the model that has a short piece of Picatinny rail just in front of the front receiver ring, and connecting to the rear mount where the SC guide will be located.
I am pushing for the latter since I want to mount my TRS-25 in front of the receiver instead of on top of it.
I see both of these products being big sellers here in CA as well as other restrictive states. And this company already sells to both Brownell's and Midway as well as others. it is a well known company, and no,,, I won't tell you who they are until after they produce product for us.
The simpler product is quicker and easier to produce and will obviously come first. This is what most people want anyway.
I'll let you know as soon as it comes to fruition since they are supposed to send one to me to Beta test.
I will post on a new thread as soon as this occurs.

I understand the secrecy, but do you have any idea on time frame? Call me a cynic, maybe its been from being involved in a few too many crowd funding projects, but I'm just tired of getting my hopes up for awesome products that are promised but never happen....
Here's the deal guys. This outfit is a large company and they don't answer to me. It will be available directly after they produce something, If it happens at all.
If they don't produce, they at least will tell me that they aren't interested in doing so. However I think they are going to produce but it will be worked into their already busy schedule so there is no telling when it will happen.
They are aware of the demand and that usually will motivate an outfit.
If they don't produce then I will either try to get someone else interested or design it myself and farm it out. I own a Machine Shop but I only do Prototype work and farm all of my production work out to other shops.
This is all I can tell you and believe me I understand your frustration since the reason I approached this outfit is because I was totally frustrated with the OP's dangling of a great product and not having the wherewithall to see it thru.
Every person who has came up with an after market part and actually produced it for sale here has been well received, and to show a part like this and not offer it up for sale is just plain Dumb! The sales here alone would justify the cost of manufacturing. I warned him that it would not last and he basically missed the boat.
I talked to my guy today and they are proceeding with this project. The project will be both a stand alone stripper clip guide for you iron sight guys that attaches to the rear Ruger Style scope mount point, and an integrated mount that attaches to both mount points and has the stripper clip guide along with a section of Picatinny rail about 2.5" long above the front receiver ring, enough to mount a small red dot sight in a "semi-scout" position.
You can't use a scope with this type of mount simply because it would interfere with the stripper clip function. Also there are already Picatinny mounts out there for mounting scopes that function the same way from both Warne and GG&G.
Like I have said earlier this is a big company and this project is having to be worked into a busy shop schedule so you and I will have to be patient.
As it sits after talking to my guy today it looks like I may see a prototype of each one within the next month or so.
I will post pics of the parts mounted on my gun and then tell you who the outfit is so that you can call them directly and gin up some support for the new product. The product will be a very high quality item and something that will greatly enhance the operation and use of the Mini 14.
Maybe we can get something for the Mini 30 as well.
They will respond to the demand I assure you.
Unfortunately this is the way business works in the real world, so we will all just have to be patient. Having this item made by a reputable and well established company will insure that it is a first rate piece of kit and it will be available for a long time to come.
Bump - any news?..
I loaded up a bunch of mags for a trip to the range tomorrow... Sure wish I could've just left the rounds on the clips for top loading.
SCORE!
I tried to interest my gunsmith nephew in trying to recreate one of those, but he's too busy building ARs for a living
Let us know how it works if you would please.
