Mini-14 Bipod

Any suggestions for a Bipod that fits the 580? I have a Tactical model with the synthetic stock. Most brands seem to require a quick release sling stud.

This is a harris #2 and a swivel stud mount bipod, see post.
Forget the HARRIS #14 Bipod Adapter, use a #2

I got one of these from Amazon.com. It's a lot cheaper than a Harris, but you get what you pay for

(if you check out the pics on this page, two of them are from my review)

The bipod that I got came with a free included swivel-stud-to-rail adapter!!

I got an NCStar. It has no spring loaded action to it, I have never found myself in a situation where I needed that feature anyway. It comes with a barrel attachment with a picatinny or weaver rail on the bottom. It has a quick release detach/attach button. I have a tactical barrel band on my 10/22, so this bipod works on both. I find it is perfect bipod, oh yea and it adjusts from 7-14" or thereabouts.

Bipod Quick Detach Weaver- Style Base 8-1/2 to 11-1/2 Black

I dont understand the rating (3.5/5 stars approximately), for me its a 5. Versatile and easy to use. I use it at the range every time I go. You can probably find it cheaper than the midway price too, check amazon

This is a 6 inch utg shooters tactical bipod, I think. It locks mechanically (no spring up top) and has spring loaded legs for leveling that twist lock in position. 20 bucks I think i paid on amazon awhile back.

Mines mounted the same way as the picture above its a lot better then the harris adapter that mounts to the gas block. I did add a little epoxy on tge inside of the stock were the stud comes through for strength. Uts been that way for over s year with no problems. I use a shooters ridge bipod.

You can buy a T nut, 10-32 thread I think that fits the sling studs. The nut can be placed under the forearm liner, just drill a hole to fit about 2" back from the end. You may have to cut a little off the stud length to fit thru the T nut and not push against the liner.
