Progress Report

I recently purchased a 181xxx Mini in a stainless factory folder last month. While checking it out,it needed the front sight to be a little higher. It shot high with the Ruger sight bottomed out. Took it to a local jeweler and he silver soldered the blade. That turned out good. Then I ordered a "Tech Sight" for the rear. They just came out with one for the standard Mini last Feb. Also I replaced the Ruger hand guard with a Choate. Much better design. Well I took it to the range today to dial it all in. A very successful range trip indeed. The tech sight is just in the middle of its adjustment post. This 12" chopped Mini is a shooter. I actually did a 20rd mag dump at 25 yards and kept most of my shots in the red on the target. Down at the end of the 100 yd range up on the berm there was loose rock about the size of a grapefruit I managed to bust up pretty good . This was all done with Wolf 62 gr FMJ boxer primed ammo. I think I will keep it....................Joe

Very nice. The finish and blueing on those older receivers is so much nicer than the new models.
