JoeHorner just bought a Tech Sight for his early Standard Mini-14, and was quite impressed with the quality. Here's the Thread. Still waiting to hear a range report.
I have one on my 580, and it stands head-and-shoulders above the elementary-student-engineered rear sight on the late-models...
Just installed mine. Good quality (much better than stock) and more adjustment range. (My factory sight was bottomed out and I still had to hold 6 o'clock at 100 yds.) Shot 1.25" this AM. Ran out of time and still need to set the "battle sight zero."
Only bummer is that the windage is fingertip adjustable, but not the elevation. Wish it was the other way around.
i shoot really well with the factory site.. and I hear over and over how much better this sight is... hmm.. what to sell to cover this expense? the boy?

I just posted a new thread about the "Tech Sight" range report............Joe
The elevation adjustment is done using a small screwdriver and rotating the spring loaded collar under the apature post which is threaded. No big deal..Joe
Yes, the elevation adjustment is done with a small screwdriver, the Tech-Sight adjustment tool, the tip of a bullet, or whatever. Its just a bummer that it is not finger-adjustable like the sight on an M1A. It would be nice for those of us shooting out to 500 yds. Just sayin'.

The original post was about a 182. Big difference.
I realize that, thanks.

Everybody that has installed one seems to be very happy about it, no matter what the model. I have yet seen one for sell used.

PS
Great thing about this board, If you want info on anything Mini 14 all you have to do is ask.
Thanks agine
Tim
If you do order that sight, keep one thing in mind. Follow the instructions especially about using grease to hold the springs in place. I had to resort to a third hand when I drove the E clip with a small punch. Once you get it you will figure what I mean. good luck..................Joe
Got the tech sight, installed it, set it by taking mesurement from sight.
Range trip 50 yards right on windage. Hight had to bring up i click.
These sight is great. don't know why i waited so long to get them

I just got a set for my Marlin 60. I'm honestly not impressed. For the price I paid, I was surprised to see the "Made in Taiwan" label on the back. And the adjustments are incredibly difficult, even using the tip of a bullet (forget using your fingers). I actually lost a little blood trying to adjust the elevation. I'm not a fan of the adjustment process on my factory Mini sights, but it seems to be a lot easier, and less painful, than the Tech Sights.

With 88 fingers you could lose a few and never know.
I had the Tech sight on my non-ranch mini. They were sturdy and held zero well. Like 88, I disliked how difficult the elevation adjustment was.
