Any idea where I can find the ring to attached a sling on a factory folder stock?

You saying you need a set of sling swivels? Or swivels specifially designed for the folding stock?

I'm not familiar with the folding stock that is on the Mini via the factory.

If you could get a pic of the problem area and more details, we may be able to be of more assistance.

EDIT: Do you want a SINGLE POINT SLING? Or a standard sling?

Just above the pistol grip, there should be a sling loop. Thats what I'm looking for.

Hmm .. I'll look around. Unfortunately, I'm still not completely sure what I'm looking for .. so it might be difficult to locate your part.

EDIT: Jack, I found a picture of the sling swivel you need. It looks like you can probably just buy a set of swivels with screws and put it right in there. I know some come with two sizes of screws, and they're made for wood, so it's likely one of them will fit.

It's hard for me to tell where it attaches. Been looking online but there's nothing to be found so far.

You may end up having to call Ruger customer service. Those wood side folders are pretty rare so there aren't a lot of parts out there I'd imagine.

Edit: You may end up having to drill a hole in that pretty stock and installing a new swivel. Before doing that, you really should call Ruger to see if they can get you a part, though. I'd hate for you to devalue that amazing rifle!

DON't Drill the stock You need a sling swivel that ataches right above the pistol grip on the left side of the gun. I'll try to take a pic of mine...

The one on the right is a stock Ruger that came off my Mini-14 folder.

Looks like a standard 1.25" detachable sling swivel. I can't find that type online - only the Uncle Mike's with the screw lock on the end of the release plunger. I think it may be a commercial type that Ruger bought from someone else.

I tried both and prefer the plunger only type as the screw lock always loosened up anyway.

I'll look to see if I still have the swivel's I used on my old 1100 sling to compare to your picture.

OT: I remember years ago (longer than I care to remember) a friend bought a used Mini - it was in nice shape but missing one of the gasblock screws. He took a screw to Kilgo's (long since closed) Hardware and rummaged around their fastener section and found an identical screw although it was either stainless or nickeled. Perfect fit in the gasblock - just looked kinda strange - 3 blued and one silver screw.

Sorry - I can't find the nylon sling with the quick detachable swivels.

Can't find the quick detachable swivels without the screw lock either - everyone stop making that style?

Just saw a factory folder on consignment in a local shop - 184 series - stainless. Nice condition - stock not dinged up but the rear sight has a number of chips in the black finish.

Hold onto your hats - $1195 not including sales tax.

But the part that relates to this thread - the swivel is exactly like the stainless one you show but it is blued. It is a stainless stock but with a blued detachable swivel. Maybe the previous owner lost the original?

PS: I don't like folding stocks but the Ruger factory folder actually feels pretty good.

Ah, I had no idea you just needed a sling swivel. I was looking for a specific adapter I thought he needed. Good thing he didn't do that .. heh. It just looked like he needed something completely different going by pics that I saw.

If it's the ATI StrikeForce Stock you can snag one up from a local cabelas if you got one near you.

If they don't wanna sell you just the swivel you're asking for (which i bet they will) try a local gun shop. But put yourself in his shoes

I have a factory stainless Mini-14 GB Folder N.I.B. that has a blued sling swivel.

These GovTec GT Swivels look just like the factory ones. I'm sure they would do the job. And best of all "Made In USA". (see link)
