Mini-14 Tactical in SCAR stock

Blued 580-series Mini-14 Tactical in SCAR stock.

Changed the buttstock section, then added a red-dot sight, a flashlight, and covers for side rails.

Thanks for the comments.

Haven't shot this particular Mini much yet, but initial accuracy results have been encouraging (both before and with the SCAR).

I wanted a tactical / black rifle, and decided to go with another Mini instead of going the AR route. Figured I would be better off staying with a familiar platform.

The only additional accessory planned (for now) is a tactical sling. The intention is to keep it rather basic (as far as tactical rifles go).

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Buff- It's the commercial version of the CTR. Very nice upgrade with no wobble.

H2O- Not sure about the grip. The one shown is what came on the SCAR.

liontribe- To remove the rifle from the stock, the five screws connecting the handguard (top rail) to the stock have to be removed. Thus, not the most user-friendly stock if you like to disassemble often.

good to know, thanks.

what's your opinion of the z-point (or whatever zeiss calls it)?

H20....its an ergo grip (pretty sure that's what mine is)
sure wish I could get a different grip on my Sage EBR. sliding buttstock is ok, but the grip just sucks.

So far, I'm pleased with the Z-Point, but consider the fact that my experience with red dot sights is somewhat limited. (I couldn't give an accurate comparison versus other similar sights.)

It's supposed to be impact resistant and waterproof, and its size & looks appealed to me, so figured I would give a try. During initial trial, adjustments were easy and predictable; no problems getting it dialed in.

ETA- One neat thing about the Z-Point is the way it attaches to the rail. Very easy, yet very secure. I'll be curious to see if it maintains zero after removing & replacing.

A few minor updates on this rifle...

I added a sling, a bayonet lug, and moved the light to a side rail to accommodate a bipod adapter on the bottom rail.

What size bayonet lug fits on the Tactical?

Is this the same one: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR044-7.html
