Brand new Ruger Mini-30, factory 20 round magazine, loaded with 15 rounds of quality, name brand American made brass-case ammo ...
1. Hold the magazine out of the gun, use a piece of wooden dowel to push the top round forward as if to feed it out of the magazine into the chamber, as would be done by the bolt ... The bottom of the case mouth edge catches on the curved forward portion of the front of the magazine, obstructing the feed motion.
2. Insert magazine into gun ... carefully, and safely chamber a round (requires bumping the cartridge past the obstruction described above) ... extract chambered cartridge by pulling bolt to rear ... base of cartridge strikes nose of top round in magazine.
I am reluctant to fire the gun with what seems to be feed/eject problems ....
