10/22 with front sight and threaded barrel

I have seen several 10/22s with threaded barrels (both aftermarket and now a new factory one). I have also seen lots of 10/22s with iron sights. But what I want is a 10/22 with iron sights and a threaded barrel. Does anyone have any suggestions for adding sights to a threaded barrel or moving back the front sight on one that already has iron sights to allow room for threading? Thanks!

So, you want a threaded barrel with irons. Do you want the rear dovetail on the barrel for the rear sight? Because I'm sure there are some screw-on flash hider-front sight combos out there. However, you'll have to use a receiver sight, or one of the Tech-Sights. Other than that, you might have to have a Smith do it because I haven't seen a threaded barrel with dovetails front & rear.
Maybe someone else has. Good luck!

It's funny you should bring that up. I've been wondering if the front sight from my mini would fit on the end of my Tactical Innovations threaded 10-22 barrel. I even tried to order one but the lady at Ruger C.S. needed my serial # before she could do it and it wasn't available cause the call was placed from work.

"Other than that, you might have to have a Smith do it because I haven't seen a threaded barrel with dovetails front & rear."

I assumed a receiver sight cause a front dovetail would be too low for factory sights. That's what they did to the B.C. ultralights and why the sights would never set, along with the rear being too high on the barrel taper.

Bought my compact used in October, the owner before had the front sight moved back about an inch and threaded 1/2 x 28, but yeah I would go with a good gunsmith like Gundoc.

Hello Tacman556- one idea to mull over is selling the 10/22 you have now. Then take that money and get yourself the new Tactical 10/22 from Ruger it has just what your asking about. 16 inch bbl. dog eared(protected)front sight-threaded with an evil flash suppressor.Check it out at Rugers web-sight,sorry I don't have a link for you. Just Google it,hope this helps you out.

the threading and dovetail for the sight is fairly easy to do. just have to ask yourself is it worth the $$ to do it or would it be better to sell the barrel and find an aftermarket set up that way.
send me an email should you decide you want you factory barrel modified.

The factory 10/22 tactical has a scope base adapter and no sights.
I've been hoping to see the exact configuration you're talking about.

Here's the link.
