Just so your not left hanging Butie. I live in Denver. I'm also a tad ****ed that Sportsmen Warehouse in Aurora refused to sell me two Ruger mini-14s. Store policy! Apparently they refuse to believe that in 2007 the alleged Assault Weapons ban in Denver no longer applies. Cheers

I got a temporary fix. I simply drove to the 'FiringLine' and made the purchase. I do however have a huge problem with Sportsmen Warehouse. I am not dumb enough to boycott them (they just have to many cool toys)
I have talked to corporate and will continue to be a thorn in their collective asses until I get a satisfactory reply.
The down side, I wasn't able to get exactly what I wanted. I suppose I could of waited but felt compelled to act prior to Obama taking office. Oh well ! A Mini-14 is a Mini-14 so it's all good. I was also able to pick-up 30 Hi-cap Ruger mags. Seems Ruger has finally come to their senses. Not quite sure what it is Butie but I have this affinity for the Mini-14. Just love the little buggers. Cheers
Colorado still sucks(obamas win confirms this), just another california, congrats.
Just the Boulder, Denver, Yuppie Area parts, Southern Colorado, Colorado Springs included, voted McCain and getting a concealed carry is a piece of cake. Soooo not Kalifornicate yet.

It would be nice to find out how many folks on PerfectUnion live in Colorado. If for no other reason then buying, selling, trading. I joined RMGO but you don't actually get to know anyone. In my opinion, if you don't own guns and a pocket knife something is horrible wrong.
I am indeed surrounded by a very politically correct bunch of neighbors. Most I have talked with think guns are BAD, however the guy next door asked me if the crap hits the fan could he borrow a weapon. LOL, I told him not to worry, if it ever gets that bad I will have already eaten his entire family.
Denver proper is not very gun friendly and the DPD is yet again dragging their feet on my renewal of the concealed weapons permit. But it is WAY better then living in N.Y.

Yeah and now that dip sh*t governor is ready to appt Hickenlooooopyer to fill the Senate vacancy!!! or even worse Donna Degette. Freakin' libs are screwing this state big time.

Luckily I live in Bailey, our Sheriff is wonderful and I could count the people who live in my development that are not gun owners on 1 hand. Hell, when we bought our house we could hear the shooting from the Natl' Forest which is what sealed the deal on the house purchase. Love the ability to jump on the ATV and ride 5 minutes to shoot, only thing that would be better is if we could have afforded 50 acres so I could shoot in the yard BUT Park County law says it's legal if the bullet doesn't leave the property so a 25' pistol range would be feasable if I built a good backstop. I am looking into the CCW but for now I just open carry up here since no one really cares and it does tend to stop the liberal flat landers from stopping and asking directions when you have a nice piece of steel on your hip

I can just imagine what was going on in that realtors mind. You may already be aware of this site but if not, it is a great organization and has just about any info one might want with respect to the law, obtaining and renewal of your Concealed weapons permit. As well as which sheriffs do and do not put permit holders into the CCIC- 'Colorado Crime Information Center' database. http://rmgo.org/ccwguide/index.shtml
You would then be considered 'A Person of Interest .' I am envious of your ability to setup a pistol range in your backyard. It is something I have always wanted . Good luck with that.
Live in Weld County. Also have a great Sheriff. John Cooke is a firm believer in CCW permits and sees that they're processed quickly as possible. Also belong to RMGO and Golden Gun Club.

+1
There's alot more to this state than just the I-25 corridor.
Yeah I forgot about the 160 corridor, I think I hunted antelope in that area a few years back.
Yep, I grew up not far from where 160 meets the shortest hiway in the country. A lot of good people and good hunting out that way. If you're ever down that way during deer season, send me an IM. We have a lot of land in the "Walk-in Hunting" CDOW program.
If anyone is interested Sportsmen Warehouse in Aurora is going out of business and will close May 14th. Currently it is all 30-50%
off and will certainly increase as closing grows near. I got a sleeping bag, A pair of Danner Boots ( org $230 for $99.99 ) a few pocket knives an LED lights. Cheers
Shout out to all of you CO members. I am new to the forum, have a Mini 6.8 and live in Aurora. My wife was really disappointed when Sportsmans Warehouse closed. She used to call it our home away from home. We still have Gander Mtn but it is not the same. I live between them but SW was closer.
If anyone knows of a cheap place to shoot rifles I would appreciate knowing where it is. I have not shot my Mini 14 since I got it about 11 months ago. I also have a new Howa 1500 in 22-250 that needs sighting in.
I live close to the Firing Line so can shoot the handguns easily but rifles is a different story. Being a victim of the Obama economy I am unemployed so I have a lot of time but no money.
It's a AR15 shooters board, but there is several places mentioned there that you can shoot. I know they also opened a private range outside of Brighton that's supposed to be pretty nice. I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet.
Joined not long ago, wanted to say hello from Eastern CO near Strasburg. Own and love my Mini-14, my wife has an SKS. I think she's a better shot than me too, will have to work on that.
Thanks for the information Snaz. I am always looking for ways to help the Colorado shooter family so I will join that forum too.
I saw you over on the CO forum. Thanks for the reply to my thread, I'm still waiting for an approval. I'm betting after the uproar I caused, it'll be the full 90 days...
