Recently picked up this Izhmash CM-2 Cadet. I mounted a BSA 24X scope with 1/8" click adjustments. First target is 50yds. After I figured out the proper technique for hand placement and pressure, I squeezed off 5rds at 100yds.
This was cheating with a rice filled Caldwell bag rest.

Haven't tried any good target ammo yet. I watched a bug crawl across my 50yd target and waited till he was centered in the cross hairs. The bullet hole was surrounded by a fine, red mist and a couple legs.

My wife went "shopping" for a couple hours and dropped me off at the range. She picked me up five hours later. Had my fal and Mini 14 with me too. Love it when she goes shopping

Since no one has asked yet: Where'd you get it, and how much $$$?

I put my Egyptian FN-49 up for trade on Armslist and met ftf. Think it worked out for both of us since I enjoy shooting 22's.

Nothing wrong with Federal Match ammo but for serious work at 100 yards I personally prefer the Winchester Super X 40 gr solids. However a lot of brands have done equally well and out to 50 yards I have had good luck with everybody's favorite bullet to hate, The Remington Golden bullet. Using the Caldwell bags isn't cheating for this kind of shooting, its just part of the shooters tool box. If you are not a good shot they will make you look a little better but not really make you competitive.
