Winchester 62A pump rifle ... dear old dads favorite. Gun new in @ 1957, shot it first likely mid 1960's.
Pistol a High Standard Sport king about the same time ...
First gun I fired was a side by side shotgun when I was 11. Stepfather must have been having a laugh because he never told me to stand with one foot in front of the other or anything so I stood with my feet shoulder with apart and pulled both triggers at once. Of course went straight over on my arse and had a bruise on my should for 6 weeks. Put me off shotguns for many years
First gun I owned was a Brno model 2 .22. Bought it 2nd hand and it could shoot the ear lobes off a bee . Still got that rifle and will never sell it
First gun I ever owned was a single shot bolt action .22 remington I got for my 8th birthday about 1967. I don't really remember what particular gun was the first one I ever shot but, pretty sure it was a .22. I assume a Daisy Red Ryder doesn't count?
Single shot bolt action .22 at Boy Scout camp. I got hooked on shooting them but it wasn't until I was 18 and bought my first rifle that I was able to shoot my own: A Ruger 10/22. My dad bought my brother and I BB guns when we were 12 but never a real firearm simply because there was nowhere to shoot around my house.
A Vietnam era M16 while in basic training at age 17 in the early 80s. Made me think ALL rifles had no kick, until I purchased a .45 lever action rifle when I was about 28. The guy next to me at the range laughed at me and told me how to hold it. He said in WW2 he had 'Garand Shoulder' because he didn't hold his rifle correctly. LOL
Dad on the other hand had a .22l rifle, a .45 revolver and a .22 semi auto. Told us NEVER to put our hands on his guns. If we did, and we didn't kill ourselves, he'd kill us. That was good enough for me.
First one I ever shot was a Marlin .22 M1, age err dunno before 5th grade so whatever age that was. First one I ever bought was my Glock 29 at age 32. Ya took me a while.
Mossberg 44 us(b) target rifle. Received this rifle at 11 yrs old (1964). Promptly joined the target team at my grade school. Earned my Expert rating from the National Board For The Promotion Of Rifle Practice or N.B.P.R.P. . At twelve years old with this team I beat the UT ROTC rifle team single handed with a score of 100 out of 100 in all 3 positions. This performance by me was the proudest I ever saw my Dad. He told the story to anyone who would listen until his passing in 2003. At the end of that season the team disbanded with the advent of NRA competitive shooting which the head of the team did not care for "That outfit is never going anywhere" he told us!
The first rifle I fired was a .22 of some sort. I don't remember what make or model. I also don't remember for sure how old I was, but it was sometime in my early teens.
The first gun I ever bought was a Glock 22, which I bought at a gun show in 2003, when I was 39. I have made up for that late start with quite a few additional. And I still have the Glock 22.
First gun I ever shot was my dad's .357 pistol - lordy, that was a gun! I was about 14 years old, and it nearly threw me on my rear! lol But I ended up doing pretty well with it, and could impress most guys with my accurracy and lack of discomfort when shooting their .22's when I got to college. (Most were impressed when I told them what I grew up shooting!)
My first gun to own was a Remington .243 rifle. Always used hubby's rifle when hunting, but he finally bought me one of my own 2 years ago. Have also invested in a couple of handguns since, too.
At six years of age I recieved a HR bolt action .22lr model 865 Plainsman with Redfield Peep Sights for Christmas. I still have it. It's what keeps me from buying a 10/22.
The first gun I bought for myself was... well, it wasn't a gun when I bought it. I bought all the parts to build me a carry 1911 in .45acp. Hand massaged every part including a 2lbs. trigger. In a Ransom rest it will produce 3/4" patterns at 75ft. It shoots better than I do.
First gun shot was an M16A2, I was 19. First gun owned was... hmmm.... I think a marlin 336 trapper in 30-30 and a henry .22 that I bought on the same day.
First gun I ever shot was a Winchester single shot .22 bolt action when I was 6. First gun owned was a 5mm Sheridan Silver Streak air rifle when I was 7. I was given it as a Christmas present by my grandfather and I still have it and it still works fine 41 years later. First cartridge gun owned was a Marlin model 60 .22 also from my grandpa for my 12th birthday.
First shot was my Dad's Browning semi auto 22 still have it what a rifle, first owned was a Remington 514, I belive, 22 single shot, killed more squirrels than the law should allow with that one, still have it I have a problem parting with firearms
My first was an old Colt 22 revolver with real stag grips. My first gun that was mine is my sweet double barrel 410. Dropped many a squirel and stopped many a rabbit with it. So my tummy loves it. haha
My first shot was from an M16A2 at Fort Knox during my basic training. My first firearm owned is my Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro. I've fired a boatload of rifles, cannons, machine guns, pistols, rockets and missiles since! The Army has all the cool toys...
Rifle: M14 age 14
Pistol: Colt Python from the 70's
First rifle owned: Mini 14, turned 18, (1 year ago)
never really got to use a rifle at an earlier age because my mom was really anti-gun and never got a chance to shoot anything, i remember my dad had to keep it a secret when i got my first pellet gun when i was 12ish, wasn't allowed to shoot till they got divorced haha, then my dad showed me his huge arsenal, i remember everytime i got enough money i would go to the store and get a cap gun that she would just end up breaking it in front of me when she found it...
1st gun I ever shot Stevens Model 52B single shot .22,I was about 7 years old.Belonged to my Mom. I still have it. I'm 54 she got it used in Oct.1957.
