Has anyone owned or fired a Volquartsen Evolution?
I would really like to know more about this gun. It looks awesome, and sounds awesome on paper. Unfortunately, it also has an "awesome" price. To justify a price like that, it would have to have incredible accuracy and performance. But theoretically, just imagine this: a .223 semiatuo rifle with the nice, traditional wood and steel styling available; uses any standard AR mag; is nearly as compact as a Mini-14 (though it's heavy, nearly 10 pounds); has benchrest rifle accuracy, yet can shoot rapid-fire just like any AR. Sounds pretty appealing to me, if it can actually perform. I found one review of it where the writer had fired sets of 3 (three) 5-shot groups each for a number of different types of ammo, at 100 yards. The two best results he got were an average group-size for the 3 5-shot groups of .71 inches (with a Black Hills 50gr load) and .57 inches (with a Federal 69gr load). The other averages were right around an inch. But let's face it, if you can shoot 5-shot groups that AVERAGE 0.57" with a standard factory load, that is an accurate rifle.
