I really like the idea of a 9mm M1 Carbine. I would hate to buy one and have to turn around and take it to a gunsmith to get it running right though.

I've been looking the Chiappa M1 but they get such bad reviews that I'm leary. It sounds like you club members hare having a good experience with theirs, however.

What did your gunsmith have to do to your Chiappa, if anything?

Keep us updated. I just checked PSA and all 9mm uppers are out of stock. I'll be interested in total $ and how it shoots. Give us a detail break down on specific parts.

I think they do. I do like PMC for centerfire, and CCI for 22lr.

Scorp!....thanks for the reply...this rifle has opened up many possibilities for me....the 9mm is old as hell(cartridge)....used very successful in WW2....not only is it economical to shoot, but I think it will get the job done in close quarters in a defense posture.....I have several 223 (5.56) rifles, but like shooting this the best. I own a Keltec PLR 16, that I love for its ability for reliance, but so far, I am very pleased with the nine!
