I thought I'd start a thread on the American Men and Women who have served so selfishly, and given so much. Please join in and help me recognize OUR American Heroes. I'll start with;
since a helluva lot of them were DRAFTED, i just don't see all that much to thank that sub-group for. I guess they could have gone to prison instead, or fled the country, but how many would do that? they just figured that they'd be the lucky ones. Many more get drafted than actually end up being grunts on the actual killing ground, you know.
Ditto the ones that stayed in after they had the chance to get out. it was a choice that they made,figuring on having a secure job, pension after 20 years, etc, in the great majority of cases, in peacetime, then they caught CAUGHT UP in a war somehow. There's nothing heroic in that, they were stuck with it.
for the record, I volunteered for nam, when my lottery number was high enough to ensure that I would not be drafted, and I came within a few hundred miles of landing "in country", too. got diverted to Korea while on TDY, in Okinawa.
Ya know, Whoa, someone who serves with honor had done his or her duty, regardles of whether they volunteered or not. Those of us who volunteered did so for our own reasons, noble or otherwise. I personally know a man and his father who were both drafted into the Marines and served as infantrymen in combat. The son for Vietnam and the father for WWII (he was also called up as a reservist for Korea). I think they did pretty well by America for nonvolunteers.

I served with a lot of draftee's, they may have had other things they wanted to do but most of them were capable, able and willing to do whatever it was that had to be done. You are a complete moron and would never be able to match up with any of them and that includes the mess cooks who peeled potatoes and cleaned pots and pans. They swore the oath and served honorably, the danger was just as serious for draftee's as it was for volunteers. Do you have a single working brain cell in your head because you don't act like it.
Unfortunately there are many soldiers who have given their life and limbs in the last 11 years. It sucks to see these guys missing arms or legs, but almost all of them seem to handle it well. How do you handle not having legs well? But they do! I'll just be glad once we can bring them home.
brains is one thing, and knowing wtf is going on is another. and you don't know wtf is going on. Our men have been wasted, for over 100 yrs now. If we had stayed out of WWI, there would not have been a Depression, or WW2, we had no biz in Korea, or Nam, or Iraq, or Nicaraugua, and we won't have any biz in the next place we go fight, either. A few hunter Killer teams could have dealt with the Nazi leadership, early on. just like they could have dealt with Saddam. It's all a big unemployment game, and the troops are just meat for the grinder.

I'm guessing you are a full fledged full blooded member of the Aryan super race and you think we should all speak German.
I for one want to thank all of YOU for giving me the opportunity to serve. My family has a long line of service in other branches but I am the first one in several generations to serve in the Marines.
Regardless of what Free/donnel/whoa/whateverhisnameistoday says, I am proud of what I have accomplished and glad to have been given the opportunity to serve alongside of some of the best that our country has to offer.
When the blood mixes with the sand, the smoke is thick, and screams echo off the buildings arounds you, you will learn the quality of the people around you.
Leave me out of that. You would search in vain for any such post.
I have posted in this forum using one and only one username - this one. The liars in "news and politics" who claim otherwise are just that - liars.

Freesw, while outspoken and having opinnions at odds with what most of you think, is definitely NOT a Gunkid clone, I have never stated this - nor do I condone the spreading of this rumor.
So... show the guy just a little love and let's not go there. sure, Free drives some of you nuts, but he isn't a carbuncle on the ass of civilization like John Davis.
A worthy opponent (and Free IS a worthy opponent) deserves some respect, no?

So there was a thread on Banning FreeSW because he stirs the pot. Can somebody actually do something with a liar, spreader of bad information, and convicted felon like whoa. This guy is notorious if he is Gunkid as it appears from the same crap concepts he spouts. Political disagreement is healthy in honest discourse the ramblings of a mentally deficient convicted felon (look up the history of Gunkid) has no value.

I get a giggle out of watching that Xylob dude tearing the bastard up when he posts. xylob comes up with some pretty goofy stuff, and obviously it irritates tap/gunkid/whoa/donnel on a personal level.
