What Powder do you Competition Guy's use for the .223
With 50-55 gr. Bullet's for best Consistant Accuracy.
My Rifle is a Savage with 1-9 Twist 24" Barrel.

You might try looking here. I have found that every rifle has a certain combination that it just seems to like the best. If you can get small amounts of various powders and try 5 rounds of different formulas, you can find what your rifle likes.......and dislikes.

Accurate Arms 2230 gets my vote with a 55 grain bullet. I load 25.0
grains with a Hornady soft point, sub-moa in my Savage and my AR.

According to this book ( Complete guied to reloading )Hodgdon BL-C2 has won more competitions than any other 223 powder.I to am new to reloading and unless things change it the powder I am going to buy first. it also covers the most ammount of weights in the same book.

The best powder is the one that your rifle likes the most... Buy a pound of a couple of different powders adn try them all out.... I like in this order h322, h335, benchmark and then blc2..... Check out accuratereloading.com for some really good info and load data...

I've had very good luck with Varget. I used 24.5 grains with a 69gr. Sierra Matchking HP in Lake City cases.
