Anyone know where to purchase 7.62x54r Brass? Google has failed me.

Midway has some Lapua in stock, but, at $1 each, it ain't cheap:
Brass 7.62x54mm Rimmed Russian (7.62x53mm Rimmed)
Everyone else I normally use is currently out of stock.
For the price, loaded ammo is cheaper, but even that is mostly out of stock.
Prvi is good ammo with good reloadable brass. Palmetto State has some in stock:
Prvi 7.62x54R 182gr FMJ Box of 20 - Rifle Ammunition - Ammunition
and:
Prvi Partizan 7.62x54R SP BT 150gr PP-7.64 - Rifle Ammunition - Ammunition

Thanks for the link. At least they have it in stock. I was lucky enough at a public shooting range to find 16 of the privi brass with the empty box just left laying, so far I have reloaded it 4 times.

Addendum: Midway has loaded ammo in stock
7.62x54mm Rimmed Russian | Rifle Ammunition | Ammunition |

AIM is still out of stock on loaded ammo.

Back to brass:
Create an account at Graf's and they'll email you when the Prvi brass is back in stock. I believe Graf's is the only Prvi brass distributor in the U.S. They're good folks to deal with.

Brownell has Lapua 53/54r brass on sales $51 per 100. Thats only $3 per 100 more than the Prvi at Graf which will probably be more expensive when the next shipment arrives anyways.

Prvi is good brass but the Lapua is much better. I have a couple 100 pieces of Prvi myself but I bought mine for around $30 per 100 way back when it was much cheaper.

I have bought brass at grafs brand 54R brass in the past but it is hit and miss if they have any in stock. Now i think they call it Prvi Partizan. Now a days i just go to big five and buy Winchester 54R for around 20.00 a box i get to shoot it then i have brass to load and i don't have to pay for shipping. I can load it quite a few times before i get a neck split.

This is how I would do it since the 54r brass is so high. Catch some PPU, S&B, Wolf Gold on sale and after you blaze thru your ammo you have some nice brass.

These folks have PPI brass from 42 to 54 cents apiece depending on quantity.

PPU make the Wolf Gold Line 54r ammo, same brass just different headstamp on the case the PPU will be cheaper. Same goes for the S & B which make the Win 54r as well, the S & B will be cheaper.

i reload 54r and have done both privi and s&b, first the privi sizes harder but not bad at all, and the privi has a real deep primer pocket so much that i have set the primers in to deep, and the s&b has the exact opposite problem, shallow primer pockets. i bought the s&b as loaded ammo (it was not accurate), and found the privi at the range. personally i like the s&b better just use a pocket unifier and have reloaded it about 6 times but i have a good chamber.

also try the hornady 123 grain sp .310 for an ak they are great in my m44 at 3100fps.

Stumbled onto 46 rounds of Boxer primed brass a few yrs back. It gets shot, repacked, and shot again. Have not "lost" any casings yet. The Berdan stuff gets tossed into the recycle bin for the scrap sales.
