Since Ammo prices are getting so high and my Mini30 wont eat the cheap Russian stuff Im thinking hard about getting into reloading

Where do I start ? keeping things simple to start I just want to reload 7.62x39 ammo whats the minimum equipment and reloading materials Id need and where is a good source to learn enough that I wont blow myself up. I want to reload just for range use and for the beginning wont be trying differant loads etc Thanks Rj

The first thing you need is a good manual. The Lyman 48th is a good one for starters. Read the front section of the manual on the basics of handloading. When you are all done, read it again. I have been handloading for some time and I still read my manuals now and then.

If you are on a tight budget, I would suggest a Lee Aniversary Kit.

This kit comes with just about everything you need. You will still need a "Case Length Gauge", a good set of calipers, Dies and maybe a brass tumbler.

If you can afford it I would go with an RCBS or Redding kit. They cost quite a bit more, but will last a life time.

This is a good kit at a good price.

The layman 48 is a good start .
I would also recommend the Lee kit it's about 100 bucks and it's all you need to start . I would also recommend a video to start I will try to find the link . The little extras like a tumbler ,ect... you can buy later a piece at a time if you need them . Lee is the way to go. I own a RCBS rockchucker kit it cost about 250 and is very good but now I am thinking about upgrading to a full progressive press and will probably sell my RCBS and get a Horandy Lock and load kit . I know I can change the RCBS to progressive but it cost more to do that than buy a Horandy full auto press:( . The only down side I find to reloading is the time it takes , keep in mind I load for accuracy and volume it takes about 2 hrs per 100 rds including case prep .If I was just loading volume I could load 100 in 45 minutes
