And mandatory spending cuts mostly affecting the military will take effect as well. But since the Red team has been crying all year about deficit reduction, then why not? They wanted it so let them have it.

It will show how rediculous the Red team's platform was.

Every college econ textbook says that in a recession never raise taxes or cut spending. But the cliff will force it. The irony is that this is what Romney was pushing all the time, nonsense or not.

Except that Romney also promised 2 more things as well -- more tax cuts for the rich and more oil drilling everywhere.
What books state to never cut spending in a recession? B. S. Please read me that one quote and the name of the book and who said that. Oh by the way, Romney isn't president and not even running. That is another excuse team blue lost and hasn't realized it quite yet. Oboma had a dem house and a dem senate for two years and did nothing at all. Maybe you can use that leash thingy defense. It was Boeners fault for not opposing Oboma or some other reason from the far left field.

Jeeze. Youre not even college educated in economics.

Neither is most of the audience.

That's the only reason the red kool aid sells.

Because people are stupid. Well, 48% anyway.

Most of the right wingers here are shockingly ignorant.

And lack any desire to be otherwise.

Many just post fantasy and claim it to be fact. That is the norm.

No matter how definitively something is proven (or disproven) here, a few weeks or months later, the very same person who made the false claim makes it again. And insists against all evidence that the lie is true. Adjuster and GAMEOVER are examples. And like courtiers in the fable of the emperor's new clothes, their co-cultists never contradict them, no matter how blatant the falsehood.

The swarm of dittoheads make it difficult for any honest conservatives here.

Changing Demographics? More Like Enduring Ignorance
By Arnold Ahlert · November 9, 2012
EXCERPT from the article:

As a result, I have a suggestion for the Republicans, one they won’t hear from anyone else: give Barry and Company everything they want, without an iota of resistance. Let ‘em raise taxes and the debt ceiling, gut the military, and run up trillions of dollars of additional deficits and debt. Then stand back, and let an utterly corrupt media chronicle the demise — without being able to pin an ounce of the ensuing socialist catastrophe on an “obstructionist” GOP.

Harry Reid wants to end the filibuster? Tell him it won’t be necessary. For the next four years, Republicans will do what a certain Senator from Illinois made a career of doing: they will simply vote “present” on every bill put before them in both houses of Congress. In effect, give Democrats they same unassailable majority they had in 2008 — the same one that led directly to the passage of ObamaCare.

Radical? Compared to what? Watching a president get re-elected, despite four major scandals, the worst recovery on record, and the explosion of entitlements — all of which was blamed on the aforementioned Republicans"

Sorta like that idea.

I think that on one hand it would lead to a lot of suffering, not only on the part of peope who already are, but will put millions more in that category as well. On the other hand it would provide the irrefutable truth to the public through the failure of our economic system, a truth that many of us already know. We are going to suffer no matter what because of their Keynesian Economic plans; the question is then do we suffer a long drawn out downhill slide or do we just get it over with? I am all for just get it over with, and I think that in their arrogance and false sense of self assurance that is the route they will take. Buckle up!

You don't need to be educated in college to know that 1+1 doesn't equal 3 or 4.

You don't need to be educated in college to know that you cannot spend your way to prosperity, no matter how hard you try.

College people come up with advertising slogans like "The more you spend, the more you save!"

Thank you for revealing your ignorance yet again CallSignClueless!

Exactly what I thought. More B.S. followed by no facts. Never an answer only an insult. All by the one who trust's in his government to provide for him everything he needs. Just as I thought No book quote because there is none. You just got caught stepping in the B.S.

There is no way on this forum to give you a college education including sufficient units in microeconomics of households and firms, macroeconomics of industries and nations, and a study of Adam Smith's The Wealth Of Nations.

You need to get your lame tired uneducated but+ back to community college.

College education? Dude you spew ignorance like an erupting volcano! I'm thinking you should get back to your schoolwork and quit playing around on the computer... it's hard enough these days trying to get a job without a degree, let alone getting one without a high school diploma!

Still no quote, book title, no chapter. Looks like you stepped in your own bull and got caught at it. There is no book or course that teaches to not lower spending during a recession. You would have to be an idiot to believe that. You just lost any chance of having any credibility or integrity. YOU MADE IT UP. I bet your favorite team is the doggers because you are one. Still waiting.

firemax is yet another who just can't get a clue.

You insist on an untrue claim, you won't do your own basic research (we already know this), and you won't believe the evidence once it's right in front of you (as we shall see )

With wingnuts, the movie is always the same, until something about the reality of their lives causes them to snap out of the fantasy.

I don't claim to have a college education free. I did attend some, but between the second kid arriving and trying to hold down a full time job and full time school I found the 19 hour days to be too much.

I did it for almost a year though...

Degrees have never been an issue on this forum. I've never considered them to be important.

Now, when someone starts claiming to know more about a topic than 97% of those with advanced degrees and years of research experience under their belts in a specialized field, and that person refuses to ever account for gaping holes in his arguments, then credentials matter. You know to whom I refer.

Did freesw let you out from underneath again to post your pathetic piece of socialist crap? Let's see the other gun boards (political) you're allowed to post on since freesw has shown no evidence.

Time to check that medication again. It's not working. How long until your couch visit with your psychiatrist. May have to get another one. With Oboma care you won't have to pay but you will have to wait a while. Better stock up on those anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. You are liable to turn into a frog lover. This is common among those who are raciest and harbor jealousy toward blacks that out perform them in life. May have spoke a little too soon. Mr West is going to get a recount and you may have to deal with a successful black man that makes you look like a idiot who can't get out of the third grade. Racism will not be tolerated in the administration you just voted in. We all know this about you.

This is not necessarily my personal opinion, just interesting food for thought. Subject:The White Side

This is the reason CNN has dropped Buchanan. It's like Newt G. said the other night in the debate, "You̢۪re not supposed to bring up uncomfortable Facts." (verified on Buchanan̢۪s website)

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA
Finally.............It is Said Publicly. I have never seen the white side explained better!
Pat Buchanan had the guts to say it. It is about time.

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation.. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.... This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.. Jeremiah Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona? And Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids...? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

OK...........will you pass it on ?

YES. I did but will you?

Because I'm for a better America

I am
Not racist,
Not violent,

Just not silent anymore. Remember NOT NECESSARILY MY OPINION. ONLY FOOD FOR THOUGHT. I love the black americans as much as the yellow, white, brown, or red ones. Liberals and conservatives and all between. I pray for all of us every day. I pray for our president and all of our leaders too. I have very high regard and respect for Herman Cain, and Allan West. I also agree on most issues with them but not all. I pray for the president as well but do not agree with him on most of the issues. It is the issues that should matter to us and not the color of a man's skin or his nationality, sex, class: rich or poor, or anything in between. We need to unite. Both far left and far right fringe dwellers will never agree to do this. For the rest of us we need to hear both sides. Not just what Pat Bucanan's presented here. A proverb of pure truth: United we stand and divided we fall.

I can believe that, but what you are is lacking knowledge of huge chunks of American history, and the parts you do have some familiarity with, as pertain to black people, is very skewed.

And the same goes for Pat Buchanan, who obviously ought to know better.

After spending over a year as a cable installer and primarily in what would be called bad neighborhoods .I can tell you i never had a situation regardless of race that would cause me to treat or view them differently.

Until you have been in as many homes as I have,a person perspective is only as valid as the source. If you truly want to know people, the good and bad is easily found in how they live, not where they live.

How about commenting "on the points" Pat made. Are they true according to you?
