Back on topic, the real lesson of China's environmental catastrophe is that when democracy is suppressed, the corrupt will pollute with impunity. Occam's razor.
Polluters like the Koch brothers go to any extreme to suppress democracy in this country too, for the same reason. When the people cannot hold polluters accountable, when politicians and judges can be bought off, as is done openly now, polluters have no incentive to control their pollution. That is increasingly the reality in this country, just as it has been in China for over two decades.

1) China is smarter than to get caught up in EcoFreak agendas like Carbon Taxes, or trades.
2) While China does have some extremely polluted cities and rivers, it will clean up as the citizens there demand it. Not "ecofreaks" like here, but people that just want clean air and water, just what drove the USA to clean up it's air and water in the 70's and 80's.
Today, the EcoFreaks in the left, have pushed beyond what's needed, and in places like the EU, it's become a political money source, a great source of taxes that idiot socialists can spend on whatever they deem more important than the free market. (And it's one of the reasons why many countries in the EU are broke.)
EcoFreak socialism will not be any better than socialism. It's worse, since the idea that EcoFreak thinking is earth friendly is widely sold/taught.
ON the topic of aircraft, I hope the EU steps on it's collective prick. That's just more Boeing Commercial Aircraft that will be sold to the Chinese, and more jobs/money into the US economy over the next 10 years. The article says 14 billion in new orders are being held up. That's 14 billion that will flow into the South Carolina economy, where Boeing can now build union free and better since they no longer have the Puget Sound Liberals/EcoFreaks/Socialists to deal with on a larger and larger percentage of their planes.
Mark my words, as a guy who's family has been involved with Boeing for many decades, Boeing will ultimately remove themselves from the Liberal run Puget Sound idiots and their high taxes/costs/unions.
