This is an old news story I just stumbled across. I don't remember hearing anything about it. Comparing it's similarities to recent events, it's probably the most blatant example of Sharpton's racially biased hypocrisy.
Jan. 21, 2008. Anti-gun advocate Sharpton believes use of deadly force via firearm was justified.
Aug. 9, 2006. Unarmed 17 year old Daniel Cicciaro Jr. was confronted and shot to death outside gunman's home. John Harris White claims shooting was accidental and self defense, but was convicted of manslaughter in 2008. The 5-15 year sentence was reduced to 2-4. Victim's parents and friends were outraged.
Teen was allegedly shot in the face at nearly pointblank range.
Dec 23, 2010. Adding insult to injury, Gov. David Paterson, having only a week left in office, commuted White's sentence in time for Christmas after serving just 5 months. Victim's family was not notified prior to his release. Sharpton praises the Governor's decision.
Let me get this straight. It's self-defense when a black man shoots a white teenager who threatens him on his front porch.
Trayvon Martin nearly made it to his front porch.
Here's another case:
On Dec. 6, 2005, John McNeil’s 15-year-old son, La’Ron, notified his dad over the phone that a man he didn’t recognize was lurking in the backyard. When La’Ron told the man to leave, an argument broke out. McNeil was still on the phone and immediately recognized Epp’s voice. According to La’Ron’s testimony, Epp pointed a folding utility knife at La’Ron’s face and said, “[w]hy don’t you make me leave?” at which point McNeil told his son to go inside and wait while he called 911 and headed home.
According to McNeil’s testimony, when he pulled up to his house, Epp was next door grabbing something from his truck and stuffing it in his pocket. McNeil quickly grabbed his gun from the glove compartment in plain view of Epp who was coming at him “fast.” McNeil jumped out of the car and fired a warning shot at the ground insisting that Epp back off. Instead of retreating, Epp charged at McNeil while reaching for his pocket, so McNeil fired again, this time fatally striking Epp in the head. (Epp was found to have a folding knife in his pocket, although it was shut.
In 2006, McNeil was prosecuted for murder and is currently serving life in prison.
My question is why? Gun rights activists and the NRA haven't said a peep about this in the years this man has been in prison. There was no outrage to him being incarcerated. Why? Is he in prison for life because he, a black man, killed a white man, even though his life was endangered? What other reason could we have for this man being imprisoned? Such a contrast between this case and the Zimmerman case.
Actually Trayvon is believed to have doubled back and was nearly 800 yards from his house. and much closer to Zimmerman's vehicle than he was to his home ...

No they are accurate words ...because none of us was there, not the NAACP, not Jesse or Geraldo or the Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan, or the New Blackl Panther Party, or even FreeSW the omnipotent, all knowing, all seeing maharishi of righteousness .. I would suggest you look at the map of the complex and make your own suppositions.. Zimmerman had lost sight of Trayvon per his statements .. the shooting and scuffle per witnesses occurred between the rows of townhowses far closer to Z's truck and the entrance than to Trayvon's Daddy's girlfriends..
I'm pointing out the difference between threats of violence (assault) and actual, physical battery.
Sharpton's opinion of who deserves to be condemned is based solely on which party was which color.
Has nothing to do with location, my friend.
And as for your story, from that article it sounds like a travesty; a miscarriage of justice. That's much closer to the Martin/Zimmerman situation than the one in the OP, though. You can't deny that.
So what if we believe the shooting was accidental as he claims...it's still involuntary manslaughter isn't it? 2-4 years. Illegal possession of a firearm should have added a gun enhancement charge of 3-10 years. It should have been 5 years minimum, but 5 months is what Sharpton thinks is justice?
Check this out. Now I know why Al's "company car" was impounded from the airport a few weeks ago for having no registration or insurance. His company can't afford it!
"(NYP) — The Rev. Al Sharpton’s nonprofit paid him nearly $242,000 — even as it carried $1.6 million in debt, according to documents obtained by The Post.
In all, the controversial activist and his empire, including the National Action Network and two for-profit companies, were $5.3 million in the red, public records show.
Most of NAN’s money woes stemmed from more than $880,000 in unpaid federal payroll taxes, interest and penalties. It also paid more than $100,000 to settle two lawsuits, byproducts of the unpaid bills.
And it still owed $206,252 in loans to Sharpton’s for-profit Bo-Spanky Consulting Inc. and Sharpton Media LLC, the records show.
Sharpton drew a $241,732 salary and perks that included first-class or charter air travel, tax filings show. He owes the IRS $2.6 million in income tax, and nearly $900,000 in state tax.
The defunct Rev-Al Communications Inc. owes the state almost $176,000, and Bo-Spanky is $3,500 behind on state-tax liens."
So what, Brian. You think Al Sharpton is the only celebrity with dicey finances? No? So why focus on him?
I know, you know, we all know.
But get this:
The Rev. Al Sharpton is lord of all he surveys.
“Check out this,” the flamboyant civil rights leader told me during breakfast at his organization’s annual meeting this week. He flipped through the program until he found a full-page ad with the logos of Fox News, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal. “News Corporation Proudly Supports National Action Network’s 2012 Convention,” it said.
Sharpton grinned. “They bash me on Fox News,” he said. “But they sponsor my conference.”
...
So because he is a mnority he should get a pass Free .. are you insinuting that the criticism is racist in nature? Quick to throw it out aren't you. Why maybe all that money he owes in back taxes could be utilized by the beloved federal government to buy more Gumnt cheese or send a GSA group to summer camp...
"lean forward" itdiot Progressives ...until you fall flat on your collective faces !
