Absolutely, but there is no way to carry in that situation, and keep yourself safe.
This is the problem.
SOCIETY folks only is as strong as the ability for an unarmed person to remain mostly safe in public.
When this breaks down, and it's nearly gone, it's only a eyeblink away from everyone having zero trust in any other citizen, and since the problems here break down along race lines, both sides no longer trust the other.

Would I have shot in that situation, probably not because I would of not put myself in that situation in the first place, especially when carrying a sidearm. I have only spent a short 50 years on this planet but have seen things that make me puke. There is a portion of the human race that are sub human at best. Arm up folks and get some training because we are on our way to SHTF.
When the SHTF, I fully expect to see these "animals" turn on one another.

This summer is going to get UGLY!
I did get out of Reno to a small town 50 miles SE. We all look out for each other around here but this town is also a major 4 corners, US 50 and US 95A. I think the only problems we will have will be with some passer through.
We did have a gang, the satin solders try and set up in town but after a shooting they were put on notice and we have not heard much from them, either they left town or are keeping a low profile. The sheriffs department is all over it.
Speaking of our sheriffs department, we have one of the best trained and equipped in the area, I feel pretty safe here. I have been shooting with a few of the deputies and those boys can shoot.
The most disturbing part is the fact that none of those ignorant people standing around did anything but laugh. Sad. I would have shot someone if that would have been me. When that guy reached into my pocket my .45 would have came out and I would be willing to bet that bunch would have scattered like cockroaches.

Agreed, racism is racism whether black on white, white on black or even black on blacker as I have seen on more than one occasion.
Proof positive is shown every day lately, as it's vogue to be disgustingly racist if you are a Black activist, or even just supportive of those like the Black Panthers who are beyond civil discourse, and just need to be arrested, tried and jailed as the merchants of hate they are. (And yes, even folks who in the 1960's that suffered under White on Black racism, now have become Black Racists themselves. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and many others like Rev. The sad part is I did not know about BLT prior to Obama, and now it's mainstream, and affects our lives nearly every day.

Spike Lee once said in effect that only whites could be racists as blacks don't have power ( I thoroughly disagree but that is another topic) I too agree that in a free society and particualrly a country such as the US ,that was born of immigrants, color should no longer be an issue... We need to get away fromn the new age "salad bowl " mentality that everyone should celebrate their differences and back to the "mixing bowl" where we celebrate our similarities and shared experience..
