500 point drop

Was anyone, besides Washington, really surprised about the 500+ point drop on Wall Street this week?

I am surprised it only dropped 500, to be honest.

Well S&P waited to announce the lowering of our credit rating until AFTER the market closed. Monday could be very interesting! Look for the US Dollar to go into a tialspin as US debt holding nations liquidate their holdings.

Got debt? It is going to get a lot more heavy to carry... welcome to Omerikka! Change you can depend on!

If people think it's bad now just wait, it won't take much to sink the economy into depression status, Half the people in this country do not know what poverty is, but it's comming because our leaders in Washington do not have the moral fortitude to stop spending thier citizens money. Add to that, we have become a nation that is not self sufficient. I hope that I'm very wrong but I think dark days are comming. Only this time, if deppression hits, I think civil unrest will become rampant because of all the people in this country who know nothing but getting goverment hand outs. I hope everyone has a plan for this but even the best plans can become meaningless with such uncertainty.

Spot on b! We have generations that have wanted for nothing; they don't know what it is to be hungry or wonder where their next meal will come from. (Yes, I realize that there ARE people with this problem, but they are the exception and not the rule.) If the recent unrest that took place at the Wisconson State Fair opening day is any indication of what is to come then we are in serious trouble!

Today on meet the press david axelrod blamed the credit downgrade on the tea party..
I have to say that I dont think the tea party created the debt. I find it a little disturbing that he would blame the tea party but I suppose he has to blame someone. Just the fact that as an advisor he would go on national tv and do something like that kinda makes me wonder why he is advising the president. Right now this administration should be trying to fix things but they are acting like kids and pointing fingers still. Its really no suprise after seeing this that america is in such **** poor shape. I pray to GOD this administration is gone soon.

The credit downgrade had more to do with increasing our debt limit and not making any kind of budget cuts to our spending.

They (Congress) just kicked the can down the road again.

Had they enacted real cuts, it would not have happened

David Axlerod just wants to place blame on someone (e.g. Tea Party, Bush. Republicans or whomever) just to deflect criticism away from his party and his girlfriend Obama

Liberal/Democratic agenda.....blame somebody else, don't ever take responsibility and never waste a good crisis....better yet, invent a new crisis and we can blame it on others.

The biggest crime that's not being reported: Reid/Pelosi and the 110th Congress never did a budget....something like 883 days without

How come this can't be reported? Because all the limp wristed journalists are having wet dreams about Obama

It will be an interesting few weeks, that is for sure.

We spend about 4 times as much now per day as we did with Bush, and he spent about 4 times per day more than Clinton.

The spending has to stop folks.

But nobody short of the TEA Party supported leaders, and a few others are pushing for responsible spending.

Makes you wonder how much longer it will be until the pitchforks and torches come out?

The biggest problem, we(Conservatives) see this, S&P sees this, the Chinese see this too.....

The idiots in Congress and the Obama Administration are running out of other peoples money.......

There next step is class warfare, raise taxes on the rich, then when that doesn't work......guess who's next?

This is also the next step to Socialism, target the rich, wealth distribution and then it can be pilfered into the hands of the elite ruling class

Oh BTW, the new catch-phrase for tax increases is revenue enhancement!

Scoot over Hugo Chavez.......here we come!

When they do raise taxes on the rich what in the hell are the stupid liberals gonna do when it dont change a damn thing. How sickening is this love affair between the goofy ass progressives, the tingling leg media, and this washout **** poor excuse for a president. Blows my mind how people are willing to sell out for a ignorant kenyan wannabe. Disgusting.

Sorry DH, I couldnt help myself.

The biggest mystery for myself is, What makes a liberal's brain tick. You know that there are more people riding the cart than pulling the cart, everyone know's this country spends more than it takes in, but yet thier answer is to raise spending and tax more, good god almighty! what is wrong with all these people, and there is no way to have a civil discussion with them because they have no common sense or understanding of simple economics. Well, I rufuse to surrender. I'll keep banging the drum for fiscal responsibilty and selfsufficientcy. I hope all of you out there will to. It's nice to know that there are other folks who agree with you in this sea of stupidity.

bquick the best analogy as to the liberal way of thinking is to that of a spoiled child who has never been told no. All that child wants is more, because they have never been taught limitations. If they do not get what they want they throw a temper tantrum (much like we are seeing today amongst liberals with namecalling and finger pointing) until they get what they want. Mommy is glad to give it to them just to shut them up!

What is lacking in the equation of both the spoiled child and the liberal is discipline; spare the rod, spoil the child. As the liberal left has never been spanked the answer is simple then; spank the hell out of them! Pain is a great teacher, and a lesson not soon forgotten.

As for the topic of this thread looks like the Dow is getting pummeled. Once again it is down over 500 points!

Look for the libs to be blaming Bush, the Tea Party, Granny Clampett, Barry Goldwater, Bozo the Clown, or anyone else withing finger pointing range!

Got ammo?

Yup... the Dow closed down 633 points, but it's the trader's fault, not the traitors.

There is a plan being put out there that might just bring some life into this economy.

Funny thing is, it was put forward by a Fox News anchor.

Oh the horror for the Liberals.
