Obama cracks jobs joke: ‘shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected’
I don't hear anyone laughing, especially those without work, looks like the kenyan failed,,,,,,,,,,again, and the jokes on we the tax payer.
Shovel-ready jobs were supposed to be a staple of Obama’s Recovery Act. It was a big justification for spending the money involved in the legislation. But soon after using the phrase to sell his recovery plan, word started leaking out there there was no such thing as a shovel-ready job. Obama himself admitted that.
So maybe it’s not surprising that today, Obama once again backpedaled on the shovel-ready mantra. Fox Nation reports:
"The Council, led by GE’s Jeffrey Immelt, erupted in laughter."
Go figure. The Community Organizer in Chief again shows that he believes just because he says something, it will magically come true. Plunk your magic twanger, Froggie.
Kinda funny in the beginning how he thought socialism would work and redistribution would work and he was right. Not so funny now. He is even saying he is ok with one term. Good. Im ok with it too.
What a thing for someone who "made" hundreds of millions of dollars as a corporate raider destroying American jobs to say to the unemployed.
Really? I thought he made most of his money buy getting rid of dead weight, and making businesses efficient. I bet the left is scared to death of this guy! LOL
Destroying American jobs so that Americans can no longer afford to buy products, sending jobs to non-democracies and sloughing off external costs onto future generations, is only "efficient" on paper. Yes, it's great for the bottom line of corporate executives and some stockholders (on balance, not good for most stockholders). The race to the bottom only benefits those at the very top of the pyramid, and even they are liable to end up badly, given that they're destroying the planet's carrying capacity and destabilizing society.
More Americans are waking up to these unpalatable facts every day.
You do a very credible impersonation of a corporate shill though, 2dumb2kwit.

I do imagine you will disagree but the corporate tax rate here is the second highest in the world. Why would a business not do this? Isn't the bottom line how much money a business makes. Sad to say because of the taxes and regulations on business American workers are going to the unemloyment line in groves.
But you don't have a problem with what Obama said, after ****ing away 800 billion dollars of OUR money?
I'm not going to defend the way that went down, but in fairness, many states took that money and used it to patch over their own deficits, rather than using it as intended. Furthermore, it's really amazing how much of that money was taken by states whose governors and congressmen were bad mouthing the stimulus while grabbing every stimulus dollar they could.
Finally, shovel ready or not, that money should have mostly gone towards real infrastructure repairs and improvements, which are desperately needed throughout the country.
The Bush administration squandered untold billions in Iraq, and the banks bailouts are the biggest ripoff of all time. Both parties were complicit in that, but the GOP is at least as culpable for that as Democrats. At least as much.
And the stimulus not only cost a lot less than the banks bailout, it also didn't go towards bailing out multimillionaires and billionaires who by every standard ought to have borne their own risk, rather than making us pay for it when they lost their gambles they weren't supposed to be placing anyway. They held our economy and the world's economy ransom, and they still do - because their eager accomplices in the Republican party enable them.
According to the U.S. Treasury website 470 billion in cash was obligated to the banks (TARP) and about 307 billion has been repaid. How much was the stimulus? 800 billion. Not that I agree with either, but the TARP program did not cost as much as the stimulus.
We all know about TARP, the Troubled Asset Relief Program, which spent $700 billion in taxpayers’ money to bail out banks after the financial crisis. That money was scrutinized by Congress and the media.
But it turns out that that $700 billion is just a small part of a much larger pool of money that has gone into propping up our nation’s financial system. And most of that taxpayer money hasn’t had much public scrutiny at all.
According to a team at Bloomberg News, at one point last year the U.S. had lent, spent or guaranteed as much as $12.8 trillion to rescue the economy. The Bloomberg reporters have been following that money. Alison Stewart spoke with one, Bob Ivry, to talk about the true cost to the taxpayer of the Wall Street bailout.
But we've got to keep tax rates low for these SOBs because otherwise they might not stick around to do this to us again in a few years, and we wouldn't want to miss that opportunity.
They should have gone bankrupt. Or better yet, the regulators should have been on their toes to keep them from stealing all that money in the first place.
Oh yeah, but the Republicans prioritized doing away with those regulations. How very convenient for the thieves.
But let's ignore all that, and focus instead on Wiener's wiener and whatever faux scandal Breitbart and Faux cook up next.

The Dems control the executive branch and the Senate (not to mention having the bulk of the media as their cheerleaders). If they're off message and having communication problems I'd say they need to look in the mirror to see who to blame.
Yeah obongo needs to crack jokes about jobs after all his stimulus and bailouts is the root of the whole economic dissaster now he wants the tax payer to foo the bill %@#& him
