Talking What Would a Desperate Wimp Do?

"At about this stage in the Carter years, I began to worry: the president was getting a reputation for being a wimp, the economy was going to hell, and his poll numbers were headed steadily south. The main enemy–the Soviet Union–was flexing its muscles, invading Afghanistan in December, 1979. This came amidst the Iranian hostage crisis, which began early the previous month.

We tend to forget that the US military buildup, which ultimately played a big role in the successful outcome of the Cold War, was started by Carter in response to the Soviet move, but by the time it started, “the wimp” could not hope to recover his lost manhood by sending money to the Pentagon.

And so I asked myself, is there a point at which a president realizes that wimps don’t get reelected? And if so, what might he do to shatter that image? For the next two years I worried that Carter might overreact to some international crisis in order to make folks see that he was really a tough guy."

Faster, Please! » What Would a Desperate Wimp Do?

Just had to share this with you, especially the way they liken carter to obama. Just tooo funny. But what is the wimp going to do to regain his stature and get reelected?

The nation of iraq had the ingredients to produce weapons of mass destruction. They used WMD's on their own people. I have no doubt they had the capability. I dont see an out for barry. He has no ball's and its too late to grow a pair.

On the advice of the DEMOCRAT congress? Hmmmm, the majority in both the house and senate, plus colon powell say go , hell even the leading liberals, kerry, hitlary & kennedy agreed we had to go. So is it Bush's fault? Yeah for listening to the liberals. His first really BIG mistake.

And now these same liberal chicken hawks are DEMANDING bho do the same thing with libya. Like I said before, the life of one (1) US Serviceman is not worth the whole middle f'n east. I hope our timid commander in chief doesn't get bullied into attacking libya, that IMHO would be a colossal mistake on his part.

I agree. I dont think we have any business over there. Let them handle their own problems. We have enough on our plate.

The only way I see us going into Liyba, is if we went to keep the dump, and they don't even have the right kind of oil. Of course we could sell it to the french.

Other than that, send 'em a C.D. of the Dallas Cowboys' cheerleaders and call us providing morale support. If BHO goes into Libya I WILL vote for Palin in the next election, even if I have to write her in.

No-fly zone requires declaration of war

"The top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee argued against implementing a no-fly zone over Libya on Thursday, and also said that Congress must pass a formal declaration of war if the Obama administration decides to take that step."

Lugar: No-fly zone requires declaration of war - By Josh Rogin | The Cable

"Lugar's stance against imposing a no-fly zone puts him at odds with committee chairman John Kerry (D-MA), who supports the move."

Ahhh, common sense has broken out, but notice who else is in the picture, mr. I'm a navy hero too kerry (aka a kennedy wan-a-be). Ya want to impose a no fly zone bho, get the permission from congress.

Educate me, is it both the house and senate must concur or just one?

I pray they do not allow the un to drag us, yes folks, American Servicemen, into another f'n war in the middle f'n east. Please, Mr. President, turn a blind eye to the un and the LIBERAL chicken hawks.

Ex-CIA Official: Libyan Massacres Not US Problem

"Former head of the CIA’s Osama bin Laden unit Michael Scheuer calls the U.S. military’s potential involvement in Libya “absurd,” as America has no strategic interest there, and if “Libyans killed each other for the next week, what difference does it make to life in the United States.”
