Do you ever say that about your president if you are an American who loves your country? Would you say it about George W. Bush, who was disastrous, about Bill Clinton, who was slimy, about Jimmy Carter, who was inept, about Richard Nixon, who was crooked? You may think he’s going to fail, yes. You may warn he’s going to fail, yes.
But do you ever “hope” he fails? Knowing his failure is the country’s failure? Isn’t that, well ... disloyal?
The irony is that Limbaugh and the other clowns would have you believe they are bedrock defenders of this country, that they love it more than the rest of us, more than anything.
That’s a lie. Limbaugh just told us so, emphatically.
It’s not the country they love. It’s the attention. The ideology, their perversion of conservatism, is but a means toward that end.
If anyone is irrationality personified it's our new pres.
Close Gitmo, beg the arabs and iran for forgiveness. Does that make you feel safer?
Is that why you voted for him?
A figment of your imagination. Possibly something you heard on talk radio, or plopped into your email inbox, and undoubtedly, if it was based on anything Obama actually said, taken completely out of context and twisted beyond recognition.
Like the premise of this thread? Seriously, name ONE time massive government growth and spending ever yeilded good results. You wont find one, massive deficet spending didnt help Rome, and it wont help us. We could be over this hump in 1-2 years if government would just BUT OUT.
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - President Barack Obama chose an Arabic satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, part of a concerted effort to repair relations with the Muslim world that were damaged under the previous administration.
Obama cited his Muslim background and relatives, practically a taboo issue during the U.S. presidential campaign, and said in the interview, which aired Tuesday, that one of his main tasks was to communicate to Muslims "that the Americans are not your enemy."
The interview on the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel aired as Obama's new envoy to the region, former Sen. George J. Mitchell, arrived in Egypt on Tuesday for a visit that will also take him to Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Obama said the U.S. had made mistakes in the past but "that the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no reason why we can't restore that."
I wish the AP was a figment of my imagination.
I feel your embaressment snoopy.
"that the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no reason why we can't restore that."
Like just exploiting them for their oil? Way to go Barry! This guy is such a joke, and we're the punchline!
I believe Rush said he hopes that he fails, because if he succeeds at making the country the one he wants it to be, it will be ruined for the people that believe in freedom, and hard work.
I still haven't heard conservative actors, musicians, writers, businessmen, etc. threaten to move to Canada or Europe because BHO has been elected, like libs during Bush's re-election. Although, the business folk may move if his regime increases regs and taxes because of stupid stuff (like following a militant green agenda, increasing CAFE laws to drive a stake through the heart of Detroit, etc.)......
Then nobody will have any arguments about failing. It will be fait accompli.....
Your misinterpretation of it is a fiction of your imagination.
Just because it's AP, doesn't mean it is entirely accurate in its portrayal (how about some actual quotes in full, for one thing), but even so, nowhere in that article do you find your original claim substantiated.
Obviously you have not listened to the clip because Rush first stated that he hopes President Obama succeeds ... and Rush qualifies his seemingly contradictory statements.

That Hannity interview was days after Rush stated that "I hope he fails" on his radio show. By that point, due to criticism, he felt the need to "clarify" his position.
He does that all the time, making extremist statements and then later "qualifying" them so that he can later pretend to be reasonable. Note how readily you believed that this was the same interview. When Rush stated it, it was on his radio show. It was not in an interview at all.
Wah! The liberals did it so we can do it too! Wah! Wah!
(Of course Rush grossly distorts the record, but that's to be expected).
The link you posted tried to distort the record by only posting things out of context. Thats ok though cause you did it and the person who wrote the article shares your beliefs.
I believe this is the very stuff Rush was talking about in the article.
It is an attitude of a child to make such a statement. I wish Pres. Obama to succeed. This of course takes into consideration what I am concerned with. Overall, I do wish him to succeed in rebuilding America while destroying civil rights? Do I wish him to further the cause for abortion? Certainly not. Do I wish him to further the cause for gun control? Of course not. Do I wish him to succeed in getting the economy going again in a good and responsible way? Certainly. I want what is best for America. To wish someone to fail affects all of us, and could quite possible take us from bad to worse.
