Your not far from me I have a place in Grand Marais it's in the east end of Alger county. GM is the east entrance to Pictured Rocks National Park.

Been there- did a day trip maybe 2 or 3 years ago- off season. Ate at the red bar (don't remember the name), good food. Most places were shut down.

HWY 28 is the most straight boring road I have ever been on, btw.

I've been in the UP for the last 30 years- no place on earth like it. Be proud you are from there.

Below are a few pictures of knives I've made. I hope you guys like them.
In case you can't tell .... I love making knives!!

Everything, and I mean everything, is done in the shop by me.
I forge all of my own Damascus and also make all of my sheaths. Most of the knives I make are forged.
Every once in a while I'll use a CPM steel for a hunter I'm making, those are done using the stock removal method

Here's one I'm really proud of and I promise, the last picture I'll post

This one is a Take-Down Style Camp Knife. The Blade is Ladder Pattern Damascus made using 1084 steel & 15N20 steel.
The Guard is Turkish Twist Pattern and the Spacer is Straight Pattern.
The Finial Nut Washer is also Turkish Twist and the Finial Nut is Straight Pattern. All are made using the same steel combination, 1084 & 15N20.

The Handle is Professionally Stabilized AAA+ Grade Hawaiian Koa.

To finish her off, I made a little custom take-down tool, also made from the same billet of Ladder Pattern Damask.
