Ah...Trying to apply a little pressure...kudos for the tactics...
Nothing is ever really out of the question, but a hooded front sight without the muzzle brake is not on our drawing board just yet. We won't rule it out though...
Nah, we get quite a few requests and suggestions, and we're happy to get them. Your hooded front sight idea is worth a look. There only only a few out there on the market for the Mini, so we'll kick it around...
What about just the muzzle brake for a 581 series without the sight? Or could I grind the sight off and still pin it on? Just wondering? Would be sweet to produce it with sight/brake combo where you could just remove or de-pin the sight part and put it back on with the pin, all shile keeping muzzle break installed.? Seems like a good idea as a lot of people just use scoped mini's and like the looks of just the muzzle brake. (or maybe it is just me ) )

Well, as you have reminded me, nothing is out of the question. I guess we'll have to start talking about it again because the number of requests is growing...

Requests for brake-only, or requests for sight-only?
Well I decided to just order the muzzle brake as it is. Would like to have the option of one w/o the sight for future, but will deal with it for now. Question- Do I use the original front sight roll pin or is another provided?
Looking forward to the new brake.

got it and installed it. was super easy, but had a question, wasa it too easy? The mo-reaper slid right on the barrel and didn't need to be pushed at all. After lining up the pin with the slot on the barrel and tapped it thru, was able to twist the reaper a bit side to side when all the way thru. Lined up as best I could and tightened set screw with blue loctie applied to threads. Is all this normal for the tapered barrel?

That sounds like a normal installation. As long as the roll pin is centered laterally, preventing forward movement, before the two set screws are tightened up, you're good to go. Good shooting to you!
Kelly, is there any chance you have a pic of a silver Reaper on a newer stainless Mini? I'm beginning to come around on the whole muzzle brake thing, just want to see how well it matches the Ruger finish...
Sorry, I lack the photo you are describing. I own a newer Ranch Mini with Ruger's matte stainless finish on it. I opted for a black Mo-Reaper on it, along with a matte stainless Mo-Rod mounted with black clamps. It all comes together in a pretty "fashionable" manner IMHO...
(I can overcoat a Mo-Reaper with a baked-on finish that is pretty darn close to Ruger's matte finish, if desired.)
When looking at the Mo-Reaper muzzle break how do you know if you have a tapered barrel or a straight barrel? I was going to order one but didn't know which one I need. I have an older 182 series if that is of any importance.
The flanged barrel (aka "tapered" barrel) began with the latter 580-series rifles. The taper is very apparent immediately forward of the gas block, where the diameter of the barrel funnels down very obviously within the first linear inch. If your serial number begins with 581, you have the tapered barrel. If it is a number lower than 580 (like your 182-series), you have the traditional straight profile barrel.
OK men...With fresh inspiration from the PerfectUnion, as well as from our exclusive retailer, Sunflower Outdoor Sports, we now have a prototype of the sightless Mo-Reaper. This one is designed for a standard barrel Mini-14, and it has a satin black finish.
Now that we have the specs nailed down, we are considering a production run of these. In the meantime, this prototype unit is up for grabs at a discount price. The first offer of $65 takes it...KMO

I have a silver Mo-Reaper on its way (second hand, I must admit...), and will post up some pics once I've got it mounted on my SS 580.
