Is the Stainless Mo-Rod for a 196 Stainless made Of Stainless Steel or Aluminum?

All Mo-Rods, even those with a satin black finish, are stainless steel. As for our custom clamps, we decided to use 6061 aluminum alloy as the material for constructing them. Mo-Rod clamps are CNC-machined, and designed specifically for maximum surface-to-surface contact with the barrel, thus improving the rate of heat dissipation when firing. The design is solid and strong, and also minimizes extra weight. Our figure-eight clamp design is also very aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks for the response. I like your design over the other "rods". How does the finish of the stainless rod and clamps match the 196 series stainless? Can you post a close up pic of the machined end of the rod? What size and type of drill do you use to make the dimples on the gas block?

Like I said, I like your design and price, and have heard nothing but praise about your products and service. I'm not quite sold on the looks of the Mo-Reaper yet but it grows on me with every pic posted with your setup. Ever think of machining the top off of the Reaper?

Seriously, the idea in producing the fully cylindrical hood is for function, to provide a shaded front sight picture regardless of shooting conditions. I'll look for some close-up photos for you...

I was thinking more of a 5/8" mill down the center leaving "ears" rather than a full decapitation. More of a hair cut. Actually I think its fine the way it is, just a dumb idea that came to me at the time I was writing that.

...Not a dumb idea at all...We actually kicked it around during the design phase, but we felt the complete hood was a more functional way to go...

I bought the Mo-Rod a while back and it improved my Mini's performance-I like the way it looks too. My Mo-Reaper arrived today and I'll be fiting on tomorrow.
