2 suggestions -
find some matte lacquer clear coat and hit the painted portions of the stock with 2 coats... it it'll help it wear better, trust me on this... that krylon fusion is pretty good stuff for a rattle can - but it has a tendency to wear pretty fast. the matte lacquer will help.
and for an optic,
I just recently picked up a Burris Ar-332 3x prism sight. it truly is a "poor mans ACOG" 98% the performance of a Trijicon ACOG... and 1/4 the price.
check it out. you might find it interesting... also the small Picatinny rails built into the barrel of the optic? yeah... well a burris fastfire II or similar sized micro red dot will fit on there perfectly. perfect for sighting in at say... 25 yards for close in work where you won't need any magnification? with the 3x glass zeroed for 100 with bullet drop compensation marks for 5.56/.223 built into the circle dot reticle out to 500 yards ...
looks pretty slick mounted to my Troy MCS mini IMHO... suspect it would look and perform just as well on your sparta.
they also make a 5x version of it called the AR-536.
decided for the application I have presonally for my Mini 14 that 5x was really not needed... but hey - you might want the bigger glass - so I thought I'd mention it too.
