Tactical Twins...

Hi All,

Finally got the "twins" to pose for the portrait. It took a while but I was finally able to, not only find, but afford/trade for, a couple folders. I know some might be upset over the butchery on the stock to fit the Mini 30 but, I think it was an acceptable mod. No range time yet for the 30 but I will probably send it out for cryo first anyway. I was in Prescott, AZ recently and picked up a 1260rd sealed tin of Yugo 7.63x39 at J&G Sales. It was too good a deal to pass up...$209+tax. Just getting ready for the EOTWAWKI. I also found a Ruger firing pin spare so, I'm almost ready! I just need more FOOD and an acre out in the boonies.

Ed

I also wanted to show-off their friends...

Hi Cavscout3/69,

It is my home made Picatinny rail/strut. Basically a piece of SS cut to match up with the front two gas block screws, then a piece of rail attached to that and then the rail anchored to the barrel via a split collar.

Hi Flatirons Mini,

Thanks, I do like my "friends". The 44 Mag is not a Mini per se, it is certainly of the same concept though. The one in the photo is a Ruger 99/44 "Deerfield" model. It is out of production and can be found most frequently on Gunbroker. They have garnered a sort of cult following so they aren't cheap. There is an earlier version made on the 10/22 concept but, I haven't decided to get one of those yet...also expensive. Of course, the Mini is available currently in 7.62x39 Russian and 6.8 SPC calibers as well as the venerable .223/5.56x45 NATO. Here are a few "perishable" links to Deerfields for sale on Gunbroker...
