Hi, just sharing a couple pics of my All Weather Ranch Mini 14 with a new Tapco Fusion stock in northern digital camo. Looking for a red dot type of scope so would appreciate and feedback or advise in this search.

Looks good. Did you do the camo yourself?
As far as red dots-- the sky is the limit. What are you looking for? Home defense? Plinking? Long Range capability as well as CQB? What type of mount set-up? price range? These questions will help us on recomendations.

Thanks! The stock is a Tapco Fusion that was customized by the folks at WamoCamo and the quality/finish is excellent. As far as the red dot goes...mostly the rifle is outdoor use at less than 100 yrds...usually in the woods...so deer, coyote, etc would be targets. The stock has a top barrel cover with Picatinny rail...so that would be my mount of choice. Price range would be anything less than $300? Thanks for the tips and help.

Well for the low end and I mean bare minimum I would start at Primary Arms. They have some decent knock off Aimpoints for a range gun that would be perfectly fine. After that I would look at the Vortex Red Dot and the Vortex Sparc both decent red dots for the price. Next step up would be a Aimpoint or EO Tech. If a little magnification is what you are looking for then a Primary Arms 1-4x24 with a illuminated reticle or a Millett DMS-1 would fit the bill. Both can be used as a red dot at 1x then used for some reach out and touch someone at 4x. Both are 30mm tubes and would make a good scout type set-up with a rail extender to bring the scope back to you a small amount.

This is good advice. Except you cannot mount a millet dms or Primary Arms 1-4x24 in the scout position. It would be very difficult to find proper eye relief.

You are correct-- I had thought I had put the info in with the post but realized I did not-- anyway-- if you use a rail extender to bring your rail back a slight amount you can use it in a scout set up with the proper eye relief. I have used this Rail Extensions and it worked well. Or go with a 2.75 mag scout scope. on the tapco rail.
