hey all! here is a pick of my mini i just put in a wood stock. (orginally syn). this is my first post with a pic, so it will be a tester, and then i will post some more pics. its pretty simple, changed to wood stock, millet-dms on QD rings, and a choate handguard. I LOVE IT! i think i will add an accu-strut & i'm done!
thank you. i know its not much compared to some of the sweet set ups on this board, but i am happy with it.
and i agree completely about the wood. i liked my mini before, but now i like the way it looks as well. i'm considering a wood handguard and accu-strut, but the wood handguards i've come across cost more than the stock

thanks, i want to keep it simple. one thing i love about the mini 14 is it looks like a real rifle, not a plastic toy. of course some of the more tactical set ups i've seen look really great, its just not my thing.
the dms is a little big and heavy for the mini imo, but a nice scope that kind of compromises between a scope and a red dot. unfortunately, i've never really shot with a scope before, so it is a learning process. main problem is, not enough time to shoot!
and i'm glad i have both stocks now for variety. but i like the look and feel of the wood so much more.

thanks. i got out to shoot it today. i was mostly blasting big bottles of water, etc, having a great time.
i backed out to (apx, best estimate) about 40-50 yards and tried to see how it shot with irons. i was surprised (i'm not the best shot), but just standing, (no bench or support), and not really taking my time too much, i was putting the most of them in a 3" bullseye. i'm excited about seeing how it will do at the range with my scope. if i go soon, i'll try to post pics of results.

let me know what you think!
Kinda off topic but is that an 02 tundra? It looks jsut like my truck lol. Very nice gun BTW. I'm surprised ruger doesent throw a wood stock on it from the factory as an option.

very close, but it is a tacoma pre-runner actually. and yup, ruger doesn't make stainless minis with wood stocks from factory anymore. so if you want this look, you have to do yourself now.
Pet-Rock Man, that thing really looks great man
Awesome job!
thanks, i really dig my mini.
patriotpower I think a Mo-Reaper in black would look great. How is the cheek weld with scope setup?
i already got the accu-strut in stainless, which imo looks sweet! but the mo-rod & reaper looks good as well.
don't have the dms-1 anymore, it just didn't do it for me. went to the redfield revolution 2-7, and i don't think i'll ever put another scope on my mini....its perfect! no problems with a great cheek weld, my scope sits pretty low on medium QD rings that barley clear the sights.
just so i'm clear, i'm talking about the older stocks. the older stocks will fit the new model (580+) mini 14's. and the older stocks can be found everywhere. even midway.
i actually prefer the older curved stocks myself. i sought one out when i was looking to replace my plastic stock, got lucky and got mine from numrich for $38. those are gone now.
my mini is a 580, my older style stock fits like a glove.
