Oh yes I did! Hehe!
I got a great deal on the stock here on PU, so I thought "why not go all the way with evil black rifle?"
I still prefer my traditional look though.

Yeah I will try and get some better pics posted later tonight. I actually have a friend of mine that will be fabricating something special for me so keep checking back, it is going to be AWESOME!!!
Here is my custom Non-Ranch Rifle Ruger Mini-14. It is a stainles 186 series rifle with the following upgrades:
Built by Accuracy Systems Incorporated, Colorado
ASI 16.5" full length .625" barrel including through the gas block.
New gas block
A-2 birdcage flash suppressor
XS Brand ghost ring, tritium night sights
Re-surfaced bolt face
Amazing ASI trigger
Wolff recoil spring
Recoil Buffer
Receiver pinned to stock
ATI Strikeforce stock
ATI aluminimum upgrades for the ATI stock, all rails are aluminum
ATI aluminimum upgraded commercial buffer tube
Magpul CTR rear stock
Burris Fastfire III red dot (Just released)
Single point sling adapter
Blackhawk single point sling
Tapco Fusion stubby verticle foregrip
Flashligt (not shown)
There is probably more, but I just can't remember it all
that is sweet, how does it shoot? Done any accuracy testing vs. before the mods? I would think just the better .223 chamber would make it shoot a lot better than a standard mini. I though about going this route (cut down target model) before i ordered my standard ranch because my lgs had one in stock, but decided i wanted sights and to be able to shoot 5.56 as well.
KingANuthin, those 2 painted stocks are sweet. I have the same tac 30 and wanna paint my stock OD like yours. Please describe how you done yours and the ATI, I wanna get an ATI for my 14 and have a simililar idea on painting it
I used aluma-Hyde II from Brownells for the syn stock.
The ati stock I used krylon camo paint followed with clear matte to protect it. You paint it the lightest color first then apply some template, then next lightest color appy more template after it dries.. Etc..
Then remove all templates and spray with clear protective spray.

It shoots like a different rifle. To be honest, in its factory Ca. compliant configuration it was an absolute P.O.S. Because of the loose stock fit it would only shoot 8 - 10 MOA. Now it's an easy 1.5 MOA and I haven't even had time to work up loads for it. I'm very happy to be rid of that sliding weight as well, it just added another variable, making load selection a complete nightmare. Plus, it handles like a dream now, no more bench only.
Here is what my wife bought me on my birthday. She just bought me the Nikon P-233 3-9x40mm lastnight and I had to use the UTG-214D mount. The front of the scope was sitting on top of the top rail. It works out though, I can still use the iron sights. Hope you guys like what I've done so far.

Originally came with a Walnut Stock, SS Flash Hider, Wasp Sighting System, Bushnell Scope, Was about an 8" 5 Shot Group Rifle. This is her now..
Hogue Stock, Same Flash Hider with a Barrel Chop to 17.25". Bedded the Forend Channel, and Bedded the Stock, Milled .020 off the front of the Charging Handle to have a better Lock up. Milled .030 off the Gas Block and re torqued the screws to 15lbs and some loctite.
Before I took the scope and Wasp Sight System off it hit a 1.5" 3 shot group at 100yds with blackhills ammo.
I put a Tech-Sights RR200 in the rear and I'm now in love with this rifle. Easy adjustments at last.
