stock ferrule and front lug

shpuld there be a small amount of grease applied to the stock ferrule where it contacts the front lug?

Appling a small dab of grease between the stock ferrule and the front band was common on all National Match modified M14 / M1A rifles. It surely wouldn't hurt to do this on a standard service grade rifle either.

It lets the contact point return to the same position after every shot, where a high friction contact point might stick in a different position.
