is it a good M-14? I have never considered buying anything but a Springfield but dang the price seems right. $500

I owned a Springfield and now I own two Norinco and five Poly Tech M14s.
Six of my ChiCom M14s have been modernized and domesticated by SEI.
I parted my Springfield out and never looked back.

BTW, $500 is a steal of a deal... they usually sell for about $1K and all of
the ChiCom M14s come with forged receivers, forged 1-piece op rods, two
stage trigger groups and chrome lined barrels that are as good as USGI.

I had a service grade M1A had to sell it in 03 I can't afford an another M1A. I would love to find a Chicom M14.

XR750, Norinco and Poly Tech M14 rifles show up in pawn shops and on the WTS listings of M14 Forum & AR15.com fairly often. Prices have dropped a bit from their high of about $1100.00

There is one at the local gunshop...It's going for just a bit less than a thousand...so $500 sounds like a pretty fair deal to me...The Norincos have a forged receiver and that makes them attractive as a platform for the DYI M14 builders.

I too have a Poly M14-S with SEI parts. Cant complain about forged receivers.
