Gentlemen,

On Dec. 18, 1939 Ordnance ordered from Remington Arms a contract for Ammuntion in .30 Cal. What was special about this Order for Ammo ?

Remember, WW 2 had started in Europe on Sept. 1 1939.

Have fun with this one.

My sites with data and books and CD for sale. These are commercial sites. They also have Ordnance Data files posted there.

Gentlemen,

The answer to this quiz is as follows:

Beside Frankford Arsenal going full blast. Ordnance Ordered Remington to build an order for 15,000,000 (million) rounds all of which was for M2 Armored Piercing ammo. 2,500,000 for the US Navy and the rest for the US Army. Total Cost 1,606,680.24 US Dollars.
I wonder if they got a break on the .24 cents???
