I have the H001T Henry Frontier in 22 S/L/LR and was wondering if anyone have every shot it for accuracy...with or without scope.

I have a new front and rear sight that give a much longer sight radius than stock and want to see what it will do out to around 50 yards with the 22LR

I also have a 4x32mm scope that i will use to hunt down those d*mn moles and ground hogs at my grandparents place. I havent shot it for accuracy yet (been having WAY to much fun with it so far lol ) but was wondering about what to expect or what anyone elses experience is with the gun.

I have the Golden Boy model. It basically has the same octagon barrel. I've been able to nail differant garden pests out at 50 yards with no problems using the factory sights.

WOW!! I answered my own question today out at the range. I decided to mount a scope on it just for the fun of it.

Its a scheels (midwest hunting/sports store) brand 4x32mm scope. Its nice, even has japanese glass This thing is ridiculously accurate! I was hitting bowling pins hung up out at 100 yards off a very crude rest (a block of wood on a table) with it. And not just barely hitting it. I was even able to decide what part of the bowling pin i wanted to hit. It was absolutely unreal!

I love this thing! I wish i would have taken some pics. Next time i go out i'll shoot some paper with it at 100 yards and take some pics. I'm guessing its around 1.5 to 2.5 moa. This is definately my favorite gun (sorry mini, but youre taking the back seat)

Oh, i'm shooting remingtion golden bullets. Thats all i have fired through it so far and apparently it loves 'em!

The Remingtons are what my Golden Boy loves too.

Oh, a small observation as well. I switched out the front and rear sight.

On the rear is the williams 5D-GR and on the front is the Lyman 17AUG

I need a lower front sight. So anyone looking to swap their sights out, that combo doesn't work so well on the Henry Frontier .22

EDIT- I'm an idot, disregard the whole thing about the sights. I need to use the adjustment on the rear sight to raise it, not lower it.I dont need to lower the front sight, i just need to smarten up. DOHT!

I have a standard Henry .22lr and can attest to it being a very accurate rifle. Like pet-rock stated Im able to literally call my shot 50yrds and in with my Henry. I mostly shoot CCI Mini Mags and Federal 510 out of my Henry but it shoots most anything well.

Oh yeah man.

I took the scope off because i dont like the added weight and the untraditional look. So we'll see how accurate i can be with iron sights this saturday.

I'll be sure to bring back some pics of targets to confirm what i think and what every other henry owner already knows

Well I went to the range today to see what accuracy I could wring out of my henry and it shocked me. I already knew i could call my shots out to 100 yards with a scope (possibly beyond, never tried), but today was the first day I tried accuracy with iron sights. I did use a rest...if you could call it that lol

And these were my best groups of the day. I was trying to sight in the rifle and get it zeroed at 50 yards. So i shot 3 or 4 shots and the pulled out the binoculars to see what needed adjustment.

I measured center to center, which i think is the right way to measure groups. I can hardly believe it myself!! Using ammo that is definately not target grade (555 Winchester); some even say its terrible. Feeds through my Henry like a dream though lol. I'll continue to shoot it for accuracy and just plain fun plinking. I hope this helps sway some people that are on the fence about which lever gun to get.

No smoking at the range...what the hell!!! Never imagined a range going smoke free and politically correct, and I'm in new york
By the way, nice shooting! My Romanian shoots 1/2" or less at 50 yds but only after trigger work and bedding. Still working on my Rem 597. Got it down to an inch.

Yeah, thats what ya get in Iowa. Big push to get smoking out of public areas over here.

Only 9 shots to sight in. And shooting off that wood box I can get 3 shot clover leafs at 25 yards all day long. Didn't get to conclusively test it out to 50 yet, but I am almost positive it will be under 1''.

How do you like the Rem 597? It seems like a much nicer stock semi auto than the 10-22. Good luck with your work and let us know how it goes!

Once I can test out the accuracy some more, I'll post some more targets.
