i really want this, but.....

what on earth would it be any good for? please don't say zombies...

i saw this rossi "ranch hand" at academy the other day. it looks like so much fun (and just plain looks so cool). but it was pushing $500 & there are probably better holes to fill in my collection. still....

any owners? what are your experiences?

thanks

Fun? CAS? Pistol hunting maybe? And not that I would recommend it, but it could work for home defense... There are much better choices of course, but at point shooting distances it would work fine.

Fun, that's it.
There are better choices for any conceivable task you might need a gun to do. The price tag is a bit steep, too.

That said, "fun" is a perfectly good and totally valid reason to have any firearm. It's one of the primary reasons we're in this hobby, after all.

Seriously, once you have the requisite 5 minimum firearms, everything else is either a slightly better tool for the job or something to make you smile.

agreed. hunt? no. conceal? no. home defense? not the best choice. fun and cool is all i come up with. and you'd think the price would be closer to what a bargain lever rifle costs....$350 or so. $480 is too much imo.

agreed again.

all good points and thanks for your input. i suppose you can always claim virtually any firearms as an investment. you can always get 50-75% back after having your fun. can't say that about most fun things.

I bought mine on black friday for $419 and I love it. I think it would be a nice truck gun or back packing gun when a regular rifle is too long. The secret to aiming one is to hold it up against your check and use the stub of a comb for a cheek weld. Doing this is actually pretty quick and easy and makes for good accuracy. I shoot +p .44 specials out of mine due to having a Colt SAA in that caliber so it makes for commonality. Some day I might fill out the atf forms and turn it into a sbr with a full size stock but for now I like it this way with the extra barrel length and sight radius giving it an edge in power and accuracy over my Colt.
How I aim it.

Group shot at 60 feet.

It shot real high out of the box but I replaced the front sight and it's right on now. If nothing else it's a lot of fun to just burn ammo with.

no worries, i think its a good personal policy not to argue with those detached from reality on firearms forums.

and personally, i have only bought zombie targets by accident two or three times (some kind of mix up at the register).

i think they're rad too. somewhere, in a less cerebral part of my brain, i think this gun could really be the answer to it all......
