Thinking of getting a Henry 30/30.

Anybody have one and if so what do you think of it?

Thanks

You get a lot for your money with a Henry lever action. I have their cheaper .22lr and like it. I also love most 30-30 levers, my first firearm was a Marlin 336C and I still have it 43 years later! Everyone should have a 30-30 and a Henry should do just fine.

Both of my favorite rifles are the Henry 22mag GB, and the Henry 30-30. Smooth action and straight shooting. <><

A little side news re Henry rifles ~ talked to my friend who works at the Rice Lake, Wisconsin facility. I have my order in for rifles marked, "Mfd in Rice Lake, Wi." since I live close by. However, I'm purty far down the list. They've made 2,500 30/30's now and starting on .45-70's. Might be awhile before they're distributed in larger quantities and I get my order.....

i want the .44mag one to go with my ruger new model black hawk
when i had the big boy in .45long colt i also had a matched set of case hardened pietta sixguns with a cool gun belt
even my lady friends that didnt like guns would go on and on about how beautiful the entire set was.
something about black walnut and brass really works

I recently acquired a Henry GB in 22WMR. Put a old Weaver K4 on it. Incredible rifle! If I did not already have a couple of levers in .357 and .45 Colt I would be looking at Henrys for that use. I will definitely be looking at the 45/70 when it appears.

The above link will take you to an article in the Rice Lake (Wisconsin) Chronotype featuring the Henry rifle made in that town. My friend, Vance Eastman, the gunsmith at HRAC is pictured. I finally got a .30-30 made in Rice Lake. Worth the wait! The first batch come with Select wood. They're starting on the .45-70 now and from what I hear, there will be a backlog for quite awhile. Get your order in now! Better than money in the bank imho.

Put money down on the H009 30-30( $737 out the door). My LGS recieved 3 Henrys in one day, My 30-30, and 2 big boys in 44 mag and 45-70. Also found five boxes of Remington core-lokd ammo at Wally-world last week for cheap. $828.40 for the rifle and 100 rnds of ammo total investment. I will put it all away for a rainy day.

Just picked up the lightweight model (H009) last week. Beutiful wood and old time craftsmanship. It is so nice that I don't intend to shoot it. The trigger is Very smooth, but it doesn't have a half cock safety. Definately the equal of or better than the Japenese 94 winchester at half the price! A best buy!
