G2 Research R.I.P.
I`ll see if I can find some of those this weekend!

I just picked these up yesterday from GunTech in Bixby, I have not tried `em out yet but they get decent reviews.

Talking Look like screw bits !

Did I miss something in the video that would explain why this is a GOOD round?

It is a 9mm round that is a little faster than 115 grain 9mm ball ammo, so what is the market for these supposed to be, surly not a personal defense round, right???

And as a target round it appears to be a little too much for a target round ???

Solid copper bullet and nonexpanding....why?

Those videos are of the Xtreme Penetrator. The Xtreme Defender, while it looks similar is a different design and it's designed not to over penetrate. There are no videos of it yet because it just went on sale last week.

There used to be a round made in France called the THV for "tres haute vitesse" or
"very high speed". It was all copper (or brass) and had a reverse ogive shape.
The idea was the same for all these rounds, that they would cause greater trauma as
they pushed tissue aside. While this works in ordinance gel actual tissue is elastic
and bounces back.

The idea is good but I always had some doubt about how effective it is.
If you just wanted a shock wave you could push all handgun rounds to 1116 fps.
or the "speed of sound" , but then the M-16 / M-4 would be a real man stopper at
velocities of 2800 to 3200 fps.

It just isn't so. I'll wait to see some real world performance results. They may be on to something and maybe not.
I think the THV round is no longer made so maybe it wasn't all that good?

I'm sold...but then again I'm a SpeedFreak...

Have been carrying a .38 Super since 1980. Current carry ammo is a mix of CorBon 100 grain PowR'Ball at 1530 fps and some of the Underwood Xtreme Defender 90 grain at 1560 fps.

This video has the 9mm +P Xtreme Defender and +P+ Xtreme Defender...the .38 Super is about 30 fps faster than the tested +P+ in a Glock 19.

Also using the Xtreme Defender .380 in a Kahr...

For a replacement for a rifle in a car I'm carrying a Glock 40/10mm with the Underwood 140 Xtreme Penetrator..

My next order will be for some 9mm and .38 Special...
