Over the last year or so, we have massed a lil stash of ammo. My wife works at WallyWorld and I go back to sporting goods and check the ammo counter when I go to her lunch. I pick up a box or two when I see our calibers in stock. It's amazing how fast the stockpile adds up, not to mention the $$$

I was seperating them into baggies so that we dont have to take the whole stash in the cans when we go shooting. After I started running out of ammo cans I started marking the boxes with the dates to make sure we shoot the oldest first.

That is quite an impressive amount of ammo. Do you ever shoot or just collect?

We shoot when we can, just went through 250 .223, 40 9mm, 40 .45. The pic is after the shooting. We dont have very many places/oppurtunities to shoot here in the "Cowboy"state. The indoor range we go to is 40 miles away. When the weather turns better we head out about every 2 weeks. 2000 of the .223s will be kept in reserve and but the end of the "good" weather all of the bagged ammo should be shot. Then we will start buying again and rotate the boxed stuff through. Because of the cost of the .223s we limit ourselves to 120 (4 30rd mag) each. Then we pick up the 10/22s and go nuts. Leaving some time for the hanguns. We go through about $150 each shooting session. That kinda hurts.

I hear you. I have really limited my center fire shooting. I pretty much only shoot .22s now days.

I guess that how we got that many .223s. We limited our shooting, even though my wife could shoot all day. But we would be in the poor house after ha-ha. The funny part is that WallyWorld keeps getting the .223s,.22lr and sometimes 9mm & .45s in. Just seem weird that they get the rifle ammo in faster. I havent seen .30-30 in forever. Because we have a good back stock and the discount, we shop for ammo only at WM. If need be I can go to the local shop for the others, atleast they didnt markup the price. I dont feel too bad about not buying ammo local(vs corp.), They get all my gun and accessory $$$.
