Thumbs up Shooting bench plans
I plan on building a shooting bench to use on the side of my property. Looks like an easy project. Weather is breaking and it will make for a good spring project. Whatta ya think.............................Joe

Mike...........First off welcome to PU. The one you built looks very close to the one I am building. Lets call it a second cousin . When done I will post a couple pics of mine. I plan on mounting wheels on the front so I can move it out of the way...................Joe

Smile Finished benchrest
I just finished building my {Free Plans} benchrest. I made a few adjustments. First off let me say this does not need to have the 6x6 post buried in the ground. This sucker is "HEAVY". I installed wheels on the front post then lagged on the bottom frame wheelbarrell handles which are made of ash. I can move it around if I want to cut the grass or bring my truck around. Whatta think. All toll I spent about $150.00 on this project.....................................Joe

Would'nt 4x4s work just as well,if so that would cut the cost quite a bit.

The plans call for 6x6 post. I guess it won't hurt to use 4x4's but being that I sat it on the ground as opposed to being buried I chose to have a more substantial footing. I also went ahead and used 6x6 post for the seat post also just for that reason. Had to power wench the bench up onto my trailer just to get it where it is now. I am pleased with the end product. .........Joe

come on guys... directions are just another man's opinion!! lol
Here is one I made copying a picture I saw in either RIFLE or HANDLOADER magazine. Then I added the metal tongue and wheels that are removable to transport it as it will last a lot longer stored inside also giving me the abitily to shoot from barious ranges into my backstop The loop on the end of the tongue fits over a 2" ball on my trailer hitch
