I need to finish a black powder barrel.

I bought my father a flintlock handgun kit, now 25 years later he gave it back to unopened. He built a hawken 50 cal kit and did a nice job. Does anyone know if any of the new wonder finishes would stand up to the pan flash of a flintlock? I was on a black powder site and heard all the traditional finishes.

If you want to brown it use Laurel Mtn browning. If you want to blue it use the Oxpho blue from Brownells. FRJ
