Smith & Wesson model 39-2 Duracoat job

Here is a before and after pic of my 39-2. It is Duracoat Blue Titanium on the frame and Matte black on the slide. I added/built a compensator and polished the barrel and trigger. Total for everything including real carbon fiber grips-----90 bucks.

Great job, I like how you contrated the slide and frame. I did my 45 in satin black Duracoat.

Thank you! Now I am dying to do another project like this one! I have been looking hard for another beat up handgun to refinish but I havent had much luck.....

That IS a nice looking finish! How's that hold-up compared to the original aluminum anodized finish on the frame?

Honestly I don't know how they hold up against each other. I think anodizing may hold up better in areas with tight clearances. The duracoat however will fill in small imperfections that I believe anodizing will not.

How does duracoat hold up to holster wear? My Fobus holster is hard on blueing.

Dura Kote is OK, but on aluminum and, sometimes, steel, bead blasting looks super.
