ID Markings on Eddystone 1917 stock?

Hello, can anybody help me with identifying what this stock marking means?

Painted marks like that are often storage rack location (put it back in the same place you got it).

We had marks like those on the Springfields we carried in boot camp. They are for rack location, as stated in post #2.
