My former Russian MN 44s did really lousy with old Bulgarian ammo, and my lack of real skill contributed to very large 'groups' at 50 yards. The bayonets were extended most of the time.
Maybe Czech (light blue box) or Polish etc ammo would have been better.
Are your Mosins Russian, Polish, maybe Finnish?

I've seen the videos. Pretty amazing! I tried to shoot 1,00 yards one time.(With my K-31) I took my first shot and my spotter said "2 feet low, and about 6 feet right". I said "cool" and he looked at me kind of funny and said "I said feet...not inches." I looked back at him and said "you do understand that the target is more than a half mile away...right." LOL He told me that I couldn't killa deer like that, and I told him that I could hit a pick-up truck, and at that distance with open sights I'm fine with that. LOL
As far as the Mosins go, I sold of the kinda rare stuff and just kept a few for playing with. I'm not really into "collecting" so I figured that I'd rather someone who is into that have those guns and I would keep some run of the mill ones. (Except, I did keep a Remington.) I have a couple Russian ones that I play with. One 91-30 and one M-44.
