M1 CARBINE sight on Gunsite Scout?

I currently have a left hand GSR on layaway at my local gunshop. Being that it has a mini 14 rear sight how hard would it be to adapt a sight off of the M1? While I think most people will place optics on this rifle, I plan on keeping the weight down and use the irons... I also wonder if anyone makes a ring setup I can mate on the forward rail and place a laser on top of the ring and still use the sights....

Thanks in advance and I love this forum!
Andy

so far i have had no problems with the factory sights. there are alot of mounting options but so far i am still usng the irons. i will probably go with a scout scope set up.

stock up on ammo. you are gonna love the scout rifle. it is my favorite and always goes to the range.

Looking at the exploded diagrams, the sights look amazingly similar, but the part numbers are different. (D06009 for GSR, MS05504 for Mini).

It's worth a shot, though!
